JEE Main College Predictor 2026 – CSAB Special Round

Check your NIT, IIIT and GFTI chances based on CSAB 2026 Special Round closing rank patterns

CSAB Special Round 2026 Overview

CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) Special Round 2026 allocated residual vacant seats at NITs, IIITs and GFTIs after JoSAA's main counselling rounds concluded. The round ran in two sub-rounds, with SR1 results declared on August 6, 2026 and SR2 results on August 12, 2026.

Because CSAB works with a smaller pool of leftover seats, closing ranks here are generally higher (more relaxed) than JoSAA's final round for the same institute-branch, except in a few cases where specific branches saw unusually high demand even in the Special Round.

Frequently Asked Questions – CSAB 2026 College Predictor

Common questions about predicting CSAB Special Round 2026 outcomes

1
Has CSAB 2026 Special Round already concluded?
Yes. CSAB 2026 Special Round results were declared in two sub-rounds — SR1 on August 6, 2026 and SR2 on August 12, 2026. If you participated, your allotment and reporting process would already be complete by now (October 2026). This predictor remains useful for understanding the closing rank patterns from that round and for future-year reference.
2
What rank range does CSAB Special Round typically serve?
CSAB Special Round typically caters to candidates with CRL ranks roughly in the 20,000 to 1,50,000+ range, since seats at the most sought-after NITs and branches are usually exhausted in JoSAA's earlier rounds. Opportunities remain strong for Tier-2/Tier-3 NITs and for less competitive branches at Tier-1 NITs.
3
Which institutes participate in CSAB Special Round?
All NITs, IIITs (except a few that may conduct separate counselling) and GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes) participate in CSAB Special Round for any seats remaining vacant after JoSAA.
4
Do category-wise cutoffs apply in CSAB like JoSAA?
Yes, CSAB maintains the same category structure as JoSAA — General/CRL, EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD — each with its own closing rank for every institute-branch combination.
5
How is CSAB different from the regular JEE Main college predictor?
The regular JoSAA-based predictor reflects cutoffs from the 5-6 main counselling rounds, while the CSAB predictor reflects the Special Round that follows, which typically has different (often higher/more relaxed) closing ranks since it works with residual vacant seats.
