JEE Advanced 2026 AAT Registration – Process, Dates & Fee

A step-by-step guide to registering for the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2026 after qualifying JEE Advanced

AAT 2026 Registration Overview

AAT registration opens on the official JEE Advanced portal (jeeadv.ac.in) right after JEE Advanced results are declared, and stays open only for a short, fixed window. Only candidates who have qualified JEE Advanced 2026 can see the AAT registration option on their dashboard.

Since the window is narrow (commonly 1–2 days historically), candidates interested in B.Arch at IIT Kharagpur or IIT Roorkee should plan to register as soon as the option becomes visible, rather than waiting.

Step-by-Step Registration Process

  1. Log in to the JEE Advanced portal using your existing JEE Advanced 2026 credentials.
  2. Locate and click the AAT registration link (visible only to qualified candidates).
  3. Confirm/update your personal and contact details as prompted.
  4. Pay the AAT registration fee online via the available payment gateway.
  5. Download and save the registration confirmation/acknowledgement for your records.
  6. Download the AAT admit card once released, ahead of the exam date.

What Happens After Registration

After registering, make sure you understand the AAT eligibility and qualifying requirements and review the AAT exam pattern to prepare effectively. Once AAT results are out, qualified candidates proceed to architecture counselling and seat allotment at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee.

Frequently Asked Questions – AAT 2026 Registration

Common questions about AAT registration process, fee and dates

1
Where do I register for AAT 2026?
AAT registration is done online through the official JEE Advanced website (jeeadv.ac.in), using the same login credentials (registration number and password) that you used for JEE Advanced 2026. There is no separate account creation required.
2
Is there a registration fee for AAT?
Yes, AAT registration typically involves a nominal fee (historically in the range of a few hundred rupees, varying by category and gender), payable online at the time of registration. The exact fee amount is announced in the official AAT information bulletin each year — check jeeadv.ac.in for the current fee structure before paying.
3
What is the registration window for AAT 2026?
AAT registration typically opens for a short window of 1–2 days, immediately after the JEE Advanced 2026 result is declared. Given this narrow window, qualified candidates should check the official JEE Advanced website frequently right after results are out to avoid missing registration.
4
Can I register for AAT if I haven't decided on architecture yet?
Yes, registering for AAT does not commit you to choosing B.Arch — it simply keeps the architecture option open. Many students register for AAT as a backup even if engineering branches remain their primary choice, since the AAT exam itself is a separate short test and doesn't affect your regular JoSAA counselling options.
5
What documents or details are needed during AAT registration?
You typically need your JEE Advanced roll number, application login credentials, a valid scanned photograph (if re-upload is required), and payment details for the registration fee. No new documents beyond what was already submitted for JEE Advanced are generally required.
6
What happens after I complete AAT registration?
After registration, you receive an AAT admit card closer to the exam date, which you must download and carry to the test center (or access for a computer-based attempt, depending on the year's format). The exam is followed by a separate AAT result and, if qualified, a dedicated architecture counselling/seat allotment process at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee.
