Frequently Asked Questions – MHT CET College Predictor 2026

Common questions about MHT CET 2026 college prediction and CAP rounds

1
What percentile is needed for VJTI Mumbai in MHT CET 2026?
VJTI Mumbai (Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute) is the most sought-after college in MHT CET CAP. For CSE at VJTI, you typically need 99.99 percentile in the General (Open) category. Even for other branches like Mechanical and Civil, expect 99.9+ percentile. OBC candidates need roughly 99.95+, SC/ST cutoffs are significantly lower around 98–99 percentile.
2
What is the MHT CET 2026 CAP round schedule?
MHT CET 2026 CAP (Centralised Admission Process) rounds are expected in August–October 2026 after MHT CET results in June 2026. Typically there are 3 CAP rounds: CAP Round 1 (August), CAP Round 2 (September), and CAP Round 3 / Institutional Level Round (October). Exact dates are announced by the State CET Cell, Maharashtra.
3
Can I predict my college using MHT CET percentile?
Yes. The MHT CET college predictor on jeecounselling.in lets you enter your percentile, category (Open/OBC/SC/ST/EWS/VJ), and preferred branch to get a list of colleges likely to be allocated. The predictor uses previous year CAP cutoff data and adjusts for seat availability and category-wise closing percentiles.
4
What is the MHT CET score out of?
MHT CET is conducted for two groups: PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) for engineering — scored out of 200 marks; and PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) for pharmacy/agriculture — also out of 200 marks. Each question carries 2 marks and there is no negative marking. Percentile is calculated relative to all test-takers in that group.
5
Which is better — MHT CET or JEE Main for Maharashtra admissions?
For most Maharashtra students, a high MHT CET percentile gives better college options than a moderate JEE Main score, because MHT CET seats at VJTI, COEP, and ICT are filled through the Maharashtra CAP process. However, COEP (College of Engineering Pune) also accepts a small quota via JEE Main. Students with 90+ percentile in JEE Main can use both scores for Maharashtra admission.
