JoSAA 2026 Online Reporting

Complete your online document upload after seat acceptance — mandatory step before physical reporting at your institute.

Two-Stage Reporting in JoSAA 2026

JoSAA 2026 reporting happens in two stages. First is online reporting — uploading documents on josaa.nic.in after each allotment where you accept a seat. Second is physical reporting — visiting your final allotted institute after Round 6 to complete admission formalities with original documents.

Both stages are mandatory. Online reporting must be completed within 24–48 hours of paying the seat acceptance fee. Physical reporting happens in mid-to-late July 2026. Failure at either stage results in seat cancellation.

JoSAA 2026 Online Reporting – FAQs

Common questions about online reporting and physical verification in JoSAA 2026

1
What is online reporting in JoSAA 2026?
Online reporting is the document upload phase after seat acceptance fee payment. Candidates must upload scanned copies of all required certificates (marksheets, category certificates, JEE scorecards) on josaa.nic.in. This is verified by the JoSAA system before physical reporting at the institute. Completing online reporting is mandatory — missing it can lead to seat cancellation.
2
Is physical reporting mandatory even after completing online reporting?
Yes. Online reporting is just the document upload phase. Physical reporting — visiting your allotted institute with original documents within the specified dates — is mandatory for final admission. The institute verifies originals, collects fees, and provides hostel/room allotment. Without physical reporting, your admission is not confirmed.
3
Can I send a representative for physical reporting at the institute?
No. Candidates must be physically present for reporting. The institute verifies your identity, biometric details, and original documents. Sending a representative or proxy is not allowed and will result in admission cancellation. Only in exceptional medical cases (with hospital certificate), some institutes may allow delayed reporting — contact the institute directly.
4
What happens if I miss the online reporting deadline in JoSAA 2026?
Missing the online reporting deadline after paying the seat acceptance fee may result in your seat being cancelled. JoSAA typically has a short window (48–72 hours) for document upload after each round. Log in to josaa.nic.in immediately after paying the fee to complete document upload. There is no grace period.
5
Do I need to report to the institute again if I get an upgrade in a later round?
If you get an upgrade (new allotment in a later round), you do not report to your previous allotted institute — you report only to the final allotted institute after Round 6. Online document verification may need to be repeated for each round's acceptance. Physical reporting happens only once after your final seat is confirmed.
