JoSAA 2026 Round 6 Final Allotment

The final round of JoSAA 2026 — expected early July 2026. After this, physical reporting at your allotted institute begins.

JoSAA 2026 Round 6 Overview

Round 6 is the final allotment round of JoSAA 2026. After 5 rounds of upgrades and seat movement, Round 6 gives final allotments. Candidates who chose "Float" in Round 5 and got an upgrade will see their final seat. Those who chose "Freeze" earlier will retain that seat. After Round 6, no more changes are possible within JoSAA — you must report to your allotted institute to secure admission.

Round 6 allotments are generally "Freeze only" — meaning once you receive your Round 6 allotment, it is your final seat. The option to Float or Slide is not available after Round 6. The entire counselling process culminates with physical reporting at institutes, which happens in mid-to-late July 2026.

Common questions about JoSAA 2026 Round 6 final allotment

1
When is JoSAA 2026 Round 6 expected?
JoSAA 2026 Round 6 is expected around early July 2026, approximately 3–4 weeks after Round 1 (June 10). Based on previous year schedules, Round 6 allotment typically falls between July 5–10, 2026. Physical reporting at institutes begins after Round 6.
2
Is there a Round 7 in JoSAA 2026?
JoSAA 2026 conducts exactly 6 rounds. There is no Round 7 in JoSAA. After Round 6, CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) conducts 2 special rounds for unfilled seats in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Candidates who did not get any seat in JoSAA rounds can participate in CSAB special rounds.

5
When must I physically report to my institute after JoSAA 2026 Round 6?
Physical reporting at the allotted institute typically happens in the week following Round 6 allotment, usually between July 10–20, 2026. Each institute sets its own reporting date. You will receive reporting dates in your allotment letter. Failing to report in person results in seat cancellation.
