JEE Advanced Previous Year Papers (2011–2025) with Solutions

Paper 1 + Paper 2 for each year · Solve 2020–2025 first · Official papers: jeeadv.ac.in

Why JEE Advanced Past Papers Are Unique

Unlike JEE Main, which has multiple shifts per session, JEE Advanced has a single question paper (Paper 1 + Paper 2) per year. This means each year's paper represents the best thinking of the conducting IIT's academic community.

JEE Advanced questions are known for their originality, elegance, and conceptual depth. Pattern recognition from past papers is valuable not for expecting repeat questions, but for understanding the type of reasoning, abstraction level, and multi-step problem solving expected.

Solving these papers also helps you familiarize yourself with the varied question formats: single-correct, multiple-correct, integer-type, matrix-match, and paragraph-based — each requiring a different test-taking approach.

Recommended Solving Strategy

Step 1: Recent Papers First (2020–2025)

Solve these under strict 3-hour time limits (Paper 1 and Paper 2 separately). These papers have the most relevant question patterns for 2026.

Step 2: Extend to 2017–2019

These papers had similar difficulty but slightly different format in some sections. Still excellent for conceptual practice.

Step 3: Older Papers (Pre-2017) for Concepts

Pre-2017 papers had different marking schemes but contain some of the most beautifully crafted physics and maths problems for deep conceptual learning.

Step 4: Thorough Post-Paper Analysis

After each paper: identify wrong answers, understand why, revisit the concept, and tag it as a weak area for revision. This is more important than raw paper volume.

Frequently Asked Questions – JEE Advanced Previous Year Papers

Common questions about downloading and using JEE Advanced past papers for 2026 preparation

1
Where can I find and download JEE Advanced previous year papers?
Official JEE Advanced papers (after 2013) are available on jeeadv.ac.in — search under the 'Past Papers' or 'Question Papers' section. Candidates who appeared in recent years can access their specific question paper from the official login. Third-party platforms like Allen, FIITJEE, and Physics Wallah also host well-solved versions.
2
How many JEE Advanced previous year papers should I solve for 2026?
At minimum, solve all papers from 2020–2025 (last 6 years, 12 papers total — Paper 1 + Paper 2 each year). For thorough preparation, extend to 2017–2025. Papers before 2017 had different formats but still contain excellent conceptual questions. Focus on understanding patterns and question types rather than volume alone.
3
Are topics repeated in JEE Advanced year to year?
Yes, but not in a simple repetitive way. JEE Advanced tests the same broad syllabus each year, so certain high-weightage topics recur: Mechanics (15–18%), Organic Chemistry (20%), Calculus (18–22%). The question style and difficulty vary, but thorough preparation of these topics is guaranteed to appear in some form every year.
4
Where can I get the official JEE Advanced 2026 paper after the exam?
JEE Advanced 2026 was held on May 18, 2026. The official question paper and response sheet were made available on jeeadv.ac.in within 1–2 days after the exam, before the provisional answer key was released. Candidates could access their specific paper via their login portal.
5
How is JEE Advanced paper different from JEE Main in terms of solving approach?
JEE Advanced papers require a fundamentally different solving approach. Multiple-correct questions require you to verify all options, not just find the first correct one. Paragraph-based questions require reading comprehension before calculation. Integer-type questions have no negative marking, so attempt all. Never rely on elimination alone — conceptual clarity is essential.
