IIT Roorkee declared the JEE Advanced 2026 result on June 1, 2026. Out of 1,79,694 candidates who appeared for both Paper 1 and Paper 2, 56,880 candidates have qualified and received an All India Rank (AIR).
The total number of eligible JEE Advanced 2026 candidates (top JEE Main 2026 qualifiers) was 2,50,284. Of these, approximately 71,590 either did not register or did not appear for the exam.

What Happens Next – JoSAA 2026 Counselling
All 56,880 JEE Advanced 2026 qualifiers were eligible to participate in JoSAA 2026 counselling, which began on June 2, 2026. JoSAA managed seat allotment for all 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, and 33 Other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). JoSAA 2026 has since concluded — all 5 rounds are complete, with the final round on July 16, 2026.
Important: While 56,880 students qualified JEE Advanced, there were only approximately 17,000 IIT seats. This meant roughly 40,000 qualified candidates did not receive an IIT seat, though many opted for NIT/IIIT/GFTI seats through JoSAA using their JEE Main rank.
Students who did not qualify JEE Advanced 2026 (scored below cutoff or did not appear) were still able to register for JoSAA counselling for NIT/IIIT/GFTI seats using their JEE Main 2026 percentile/rank. CSAB 2026 special rounds (SR1 Aug 6, SR2 Aug 12) followed for remaining vacant seats.
