BITSAT Colleges in India 2026 – Complete List

BITSAT is a BITS-specific exam — here's exactly which campuses accept it, and why it isn't valid anywhere else.

Common Misconception

Many first-time aspirants assume BITSAT works like JEE Main — accepted by many colleges. It does not. BITSAT scores are valid only at the BITS group of campuses listed below. If you see any other website or coaching material claiming a non-BITS college accepts BITSAT, verify directly with that college — this is a frequent source of confusion.

Colleges Accepting BITSAT Scores

BITS Pilani (Main Campus)

Pilani, Rajasthan | Established 1964

The founding and largest campus. Historically the most competitive BITSAT cutoffs, especially for CSE.

BITS Pilani K.K. Birla Goa Campus

Zuarinagar, Goa | Established 2004

Same BITS Pilani degree; strong and rapidly growing placement record, scenic coastal location.

BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus

Shameerpet, Hyderabad, Telangana | Established 2008

Newest of the three Indian campuses; increasingly competitive, strong industry connect in Hyderabad's tech ecosystem.

BITS Pilani Dubai Campus

Dubai International Academic City, UAE | Established 2000

International campus with its own admission process for domestic and international/NRI applicants — check official page for exact 2026 criteria.

Why BITSAT Isn't Accepted Elsewhere

BITSAT (BITS Admission Test) is conducted entirely by BITS Pilani for admission to its own institutes. Unlike JEE Main — a national-level exam whose scores/ranks feed into JoSAA and CSAB counselling for hundreds of government-funded and some private institutions — BITSAT was designed specifically as BITS Pilani's in-house admission test.

Other well-known private universities run their own separate entrance exams for the same reason: VIT uses VITEEE, SRM uses SRMJEEE, and Manipal uses MET. Each private university group's entrance exam is generally valid only within that group's own campuses, similar to how BITSAT works for BITS.

Frequently Asked Questions – BITSAT Colleges

Common questions about which colleges accept BITSAT scores

1
Which colleges accept BITSAT scores?
BITSAT scores are accepted exclusively by the BITS (Birla Institute of Technology and Science) group of campuses: BITS Pilani (main campus, Rajasthan), BITS Pilani K.K. Birla Goa Campus, and BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus. Additionally, BITS Pilani Dubai Campus (an international campus) uses its own admission process which may reference BITSAT-equivalent criteria — check the Dubai campus's official page for current requirements.
2
Do any other engineering colleges in India accept BITSAT scores?
No. Unlike JEE Main, which is accepted by hundreds of NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and many state/private colleges, BITSAT is a BITS-specific exam. No other engineering college or university in India — government or private — uses BITSAT as an admission criterion. This is a common misconception among aspirants who assume BITSAT works like a general entrance exam.
3
Is BITS Pilani Dubai the same as taking BITSAT?
BITS Pilani Dubai Campus is a separate international campus with its own admission norms, which have historically differed somewhat from the domestic BITSAT-based process (e.g., different weightage or criteria for international/NRI applicants). Always check the official BITS Pilani Dubai admissions page for the exact current-year process rather than assuming it mirrors domestic BITSAT admission exactly.
4
Can I use my BITSAT score for NIT or private college admission?
No. NITs, IIITs and GFTIs admit students through JEE Main and JoSAA/CSAB counselling. Most other private engineering colleges either run their own entrance exams (e.g., VITEEE for VIT, SRMJEEE for SRM) or accept JEE Main / state-level exam scores. BITSAT has no application outside the BITS campuses.
5
Are all three BITS campuses (Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad) equally ranked?
All three campuses award the same BITS Pilani degree with a shared academic framework and faculty exchange. Historically, Pilani (the founding campus) has had marginally higher cutoffs and brand recognition due to its seniority, but Goa and Hyderabad have increasingly closed the gap in cutoffs, placements and reputation over the years.
