BITSAT 2026 – BITS Admission Guide

BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test) is the computer-based entrance test conducted directly by BITS Pilani for admission to its integrated first-degree programmes across three campuses — Pilani (Rajasthan), Goa, and Hyderabad. Unlike JEE Main, BITSAT is not government-run; it is BITS's own private entrance exam, and BITS institutes are deemed universities, not government-funded.

The exam tests 150 questions in 3 hours: 40 Physics, 40 Chemistry, 40 Mathematics, 15 English Proficiency, and 10 Logical Reasoning, with +3 for a correct answer and -1 for an incorrect one (maximum 450, though the effective scoring scale used in recent cutoffs is out of 390 after a 2022 format change). Students who finish all 150 questions within time get access to 12 additional bonus questions — a unique feature that rewards speed and accuracy.

Admission across the three campuses uses a single, centralized preference-based process with multiple allotment iterations. Pilani is the flagship campus with the highest cutoffs and strongest alumni network, Goa offers the same degree with a coastal campus and slightly lower cutoffs, and Hyderabad is the newest and most accessible of the three, with strong ties to the local IT industry.
