KEAM 2026 Round 3 (Phase 3) Allotment

Phase 3, the final round, result declared August 5, 2026. How it built on Phase 1 and Phase 2, the trial allotment concept, and upgrade rules explained.

Phase 3 (Round 3) followed Phase 2 in CEE Kerala's KEAM 2026 schedule. The Phase 3 allotment result was declared on August 5, 2026, and the last date to join the allotted college was August 10, 2026 — marking the conclusion of KEAM 2026 engineering counselling. Always verify at cee.kerala.gov.in.

How KEAM Round 3 (Phase 3) Works

KEAM (Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical) counselling, conducted by CEE Kerala (Commissioner for Entrance Examinations), runs its centralized allotment process across three main phases, followed by a mop-up/supplementary round for any seats still vacant. Phase 3 continues the same vacancy-driven reallotment logic as Phase 2: seats vacated by candidates who did not confirm continuation, did not pay fees, or were allotted elsewhere flow back into the pool, and CEE Kerala re-runs allotment for candidates still in contention against this refreshed matrix.

A distinctive feature of the KEAM process is trial allotment. Before publishing the final allotment for a phase, CEE Kerala often releases a trial allotment — a preview result based on the current state of rank lists and option lists — giving candidates a chance to see a likely outcome and revise their option list before the phase is finalized. Candidates should treat the trial allotment as informational only; it is the final allotment, published after the trial window closes, that actually matters for admission.

As with Phase 2, Phase 3 does not work like an automatic upgrade. A candidate holding a Phase 2 seat who wants to be considered for a better option in Phase 3 must actively log in to the CEE Kerala portal and click "Confirm" on the Option Registration page during the Phase 3 window — simply holding the seat passively does not trigger re-evaluation. This remains one of the most common sources of missed upgrades across KEAM's counselling cycle.

By Phase 3, government engineering colleges such as CET Trivandrum, TKM College of Engineering Kollam, and Government Engineering College Thrissur are typically close to fully subscribed, so most incremental movement happens in government-aided and self-financing colleges. Kerala's community reservation matrix — SC/ST, SEBC groups such as Ezhava and Muslim, and LC/OEC — continues to apply exactly as in earlier phases, and under-subscribed reserved seats from Phase 1 or 2 can resurface as fresh vacancies in Phase 3.

Phase 3 was the final round of KEAM 2026 centralized counselling, with the allotment result declared August 5, 2026, and the last date to join the allotted college set for August 10, 2026. Candidates who did not receive a seat by this stage should now check with individual self-financing colleges directly for any remaining vacancy-based admission, since CEE Kerala's centralized KEAM CAP process for 2026 engineering admissions has concluded. Review your Phase 2 outcome for reference, and monitor cee.kerala.gov.in for any further official updates.

Preparing for Your Round 3 Outcome

You hold a Phase 2 seat and want an upgrade

Click 'Confirm' on the Option Registration page as soon as Phase 3 opens. Your Phase 2 seat stays safe as a backup unless something better is allotted, which then replaces it automatically.

You hold a Phase 2 seat and are satisfied

You are not required to participate in Phase 3. Simply do not confirm continuation, and your Phase 2 seat remains valid subject to CEE Kerala's reporting deadlines.

You got no seat in Phase 1 or Phase 2

You remain automatically eligible for Phase 3 without re-registering. Use the trial allotment (if published) to gauge your likely outcome and adjust your option list if needed.

Still no seat after Phase 3

Since Phase 3 was the final centralized round, check directly with self-financing colleges for any remaining vacancy-based admission.

KEAM 2026 Round 3 Allotment – FAQs

Common questions about KEAM 2026 Round 3 (Phase 3) allotment, trial allotment, and process

1
What is KEAM Round 3 (Phase 3) and how does it fit with Phase 1 and Phase 2?
KEAM's centralized allotment process (CAP), conducted by CEE Kerala (Commissioner for Entrance Examinations), ran across three main phases. Phase 3 (Round 3), the final round, followed Phase 1 (the initial full allotment) and Phase 2 (a vacancy-based reallotment round), continuing the same pattern — re-evaluating candidates who confirmed continuation against a freshly updated vacancy list. Its allotment result was declared August 5, 2026.
2
What is 'trial allotment' in KEAM, and does it apply before Round 3?
CEE Kerala sometimes publishes a 'trial allotment' before the final allotment of a phase — a preview result based on option lists as they stand at that point, allowing candidates to see a likely outcome and revise their option list if needed before the final Phase 3 allotment is locked and published. Trial allotment is not the final result; only the final allotment after the trial phase counts for admission.
3
Do I need to do anything to be considered for Phase 3 if I already have a Phase 2 seat?
Yes. As with Phase 2, KEAM's Phase 3 upgrade is not automatic. Candidates who accepted a Phase 2 seat and want to be considered for a better option in Phase 3 must actively log in to the CEE Kerala candidate portal and click 'Confirm' on the Option Registration page during the Phase 3 window. Skipping this step means you simply retain your Phase 2 seat without being re-evaluated.
4
What kind of seats are typically available in KEAM Round 3?
By Phase 3, government engineering colleges such as CET Trivandrum, TKM College of Engineering Kollam, and Government Engineering College Thrissur are almost fully subscribed. Phase 3 vacancies concentrate in government-aided and self-financing colleges, so candidates should keep realistic expectations and consider widening their option list to include more colleges in these tiers.
5
Is Phase 3 the final round of KEAM counselling?
Yes. Phase 3 was the third and final centralized allotment round of KEAM 2026 counselling. The allotment result was declared August 5, 2026, and the last date to join the allotted college was August 10, 2026. Any remaining vacancies after this are typically filled by self-financing colleges directly through their own admission process.
6
How does community reservation apply in KEAM Round 3?
Kerala's community reservation matrix — covering SC/ST, SEBC categories such as Ezhava and Muslim, and LC/OEC — continues to apply in Phase 3 exactly as in earlier phases. As in Phase 2, vacancy-based movement in Phase 3 can open reserved-category seats that were under-subscribed in earlier phases, so it's worth rechecking eligibility for colleges you may not have prioritized before.
