KCET 2026 Results – Counselling Guide

How to check your KCET 2026 result and rank card, and move on to KEA counselling

Already have your result? Go straight to allotment

KCET 2026 Round 1 seat allotment was published on July 14, 2026. If you've already checked your rank and registered for counselling, see our Round 1 Allotment guide for what to do next.

How to Check KCET 2026 Result

KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) results are declared by KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) on the official portal cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. To check your result, log in using your KCET application number and date of birth, then navigate to the “Result / Rank Card” section. Your rank card shows subject-wise scores, your overall KCET rank, and your category-wise rank — all of which matter for counselling.

Unlike JEE Main, where the rank comes purely from the computer-based exam percentile, the KCET rank is computed using a weighted combination of KCET marks and Class 12 (PUC) marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology, as per the formula KEA notifies each year. This is why two candidates with identical KCET exam scores can end up with different final ranks if their Class 12 marks differ.

From Result to Seat — Step by Step

1

Check your result and download the rank card

Log in to cetonline.karnataka.gov.in and save your rank card PDF. You'll need it at multiple stages of counselling.

2

Register for KEA counselling (if not already done)

Complete counselling registration separately — a good rank alone does not enroll you automatically. Registration and choice filling are mandatory steps.

3

Upload and verify documents

Upload Class 10/12 mark sheets, category certificates, income certificate (if applicable), and photo ID. Get them verified before the deadline.

4

Estimate your college options

Use your KCET rank and category with a college predictor and previous-year cutoff data to shortlist realistic college-branch combinations.

5

Fill and lock your choices

Arrange your college-branch preferences in priority order during the choice-filling window. Fill as many choices as possible to maximize your allotment chances.

6

Check Round 1 allotment result

Once published, check your allotment, accept the seat, pay the fee, and decide between Freeze or Upgrade.

Frequently Asked Questions – KCET 2026 Results & Counselling

Common questions about KCET 2026 results and next steps

1
How do I check my KCET 2026 result and rank card?
Visit cetonline.karnataka.gov.in and log in with your KCET application number and date of birth. Navigate to the 'Result / Rank Card' section to view your subject-wise scores, KCET rank, and category rank. Download and save the rank card PDF — it is required at multiple stages of KEA counselling registration.
2
How is the KCET rank calculated?
KCET rank is determined using a weighted combination of KCET (Karnataka CET) marks and Class 12 (PUC or equivalent) marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology, as per the formula notified by KEA. This differs from JEE Main, where the rank is based purely on the entrance exam percentile. Candidates should check their official rank card for the exact score breakdown used.
3
What should I do immediately after checking my KCET result?
After checking your result: (1) Download and save your rank card, (2) Register for KEA counselling separately on cetonline.karnataka.gov.in if not already done, (3) Complete document upload and verification, (4) Start shortlisting colleges and branches using a KCET college predictor based on your rank, (5) Watch for the choice-filling window announcement.
4
Is KCET result declaration the same as counselling registration?
No, these are two separate steps. The result declaration only publishes your rank; it does not automatically enroll you in counselling. You must separately complete KEA counselling registration, document verification, and choice filling to be considered for seat allotment — missing this step means you will not receive any seat even with a good rank.
5
What documents are needed after the KCET result for counselling?
Commonly required documents include the KCET admit card and rank card, Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets, category/caste certificate (if applicable), income certificate for reservation categories, Karnataka domicile/study certificates (for HK/GK quota if applicable), passport-size photographs, and a valid photo ID.
6
Can I use my KCET rank to predict which college I might get?
Yes. Once your rank is known, you can use a KCET college predictor tool along with previous-year KCET cutoff data to get an estimate of which colleges and branches are realistically within reach for your rank and category. This helps you plan your choice list strategically before the choice-filling window opens.
