JoSAA 2026 Round 3 Seat Allotment

Declared: July 6, 2026 · Upgrades Continue · 2 More Rounds After This

Round 3 result declared July 6, 2026 (official confirmed). Check josaa.nic.in for your status.

What Happens in JoSAA Round 3?

By Round 3, a significant portion of candidates have frozen their seats. The vacancies in Round 3 come from Float and Slide candidates who received upgrades and released their Round 2 seats, plus candidates who withdrew. Round 3 typically sees fewer vacancies than Rounds 1–2 but still meaningful movement, especially for popular NIT and IIIT branches.

If you got a seat in Round 1/2:

If on Float, Round 3 may upgrade you. If on Slide, you may get a better branch at the same institute. If Frozen, no change.

If you haven't got a seat yet:

You're still in the system. Round 3 continues evaluation of your choice list. Rounds 4 and 5 (final) are also available.

Is Round 3 the last chance to get an upgrade?

No. Round 4 and Round 5 (final round) also offer upgrades. However, the number of available upgrade seats reduces with each round as more candidates freeze. Round 3 is still a strong round for upgrades.

What if I'm still not allotted any seat after Round 3?

If you have a valid rank and filled valid choices, you remain in the system for Rounds 4 and 5. Not getting a seat in Round 3 means your choices are outside your rank range — consider reviewing and possibly adjusting realistic choices before Round 4 (not possible after choice filling closes, but use mock allotment insights).
