JoSAA 2026 Round 2 Seat Allotment

Expected: June 30, 2026 · Upgrades & New Allotments · What to Do Next

Round 2 result: June 30, 2026 (official confirmed). Official results on josaa.nic.in.

About JoSAA 2026 Round 2

Round 2 is typically the round where the most movement happens. Candidates who selected Float after Round 1 are re-evaluated against vacancies created by freezes and withdrawals. Many candidates who missed Round 1 allotment receive their first seat in Round 2.

Round 2 also processes candidates who did not get any seat in Round 1 — their choice lists are evaluated fresh against available seats. The number of available seats in Round 2 depends on how many Round 1 candidates froze or withdrew.

When will JoSAA 2026 Round 2 result be declared?
JoSAA 2026 Round 2 seat allotment result is on June 30, 2026 (official confirmed date). Official results are published on josaa.nic.in.
2
I didn't get a seat in Round 1. Will I get one in Round 2?
Yes, possibly. Round 2 processes vacancies created by Round 1 candidates who upgraded (Float), withdrew, or didn't respond. Candidates without a Round 1 seat are reconsidered in Round 2. Many candidates get their first allotment in Round 2.
3
If I get an upgraded seat in Round 2 (from Float), is my Round 1 seat cancelled?
Yes. When upgraded via Float, your Round 1 seat is automatically released. You cannot keep both seats. Your paid acceptance fee transfers to the new allotment — you don't pay again (unless additional fees apply).
4
What if my Round 2 seat is worse than Round 1?
JoSAA's algorithm never downgrades you. If you selected Float after Round 1, Round 2 will either upgrade you to a higher-preference seat or keep your Round 1 seat unchanged. You cannot get a worse seat from Float.
