JoSAA 2026 Registration Overview
JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) 2026 manages seat allocation for 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, and 54 GFTIs — over 57,000 seats across India's premier engineering institutions. With JEE Advanced 2026 results declared on June 1, 2026 (56,880 candidates qualified), the JoSAA 2026 counselling window opens June 2, 2026.
Registration and choice filling happen simultaneously on josaa.nic.in. Every eligible candidate — whether qualified through JEE Main 2026 (for NITs/IIITs/GFTIs) or JEE Advanced 2026 (for IITs) — must register within the allotted window. There are no second chances once the deadline passes.

Step-by-Step Registration Process
Visit josaa.nic.in
Go to the official JoSAA 2026 portal. Click on 'Candidate Login' or 'New Registration'.
Login with JEE Credentials
Enter your JEE Main 2026 application number and password. JEE Advanced candidates also use their JEE Main credentials to log in.
Verify Personal Details
Confirm your name, date of birth, category, and PwD status as per your JEE records. Any mismatch must be corrected before proceeding.
Upload Required Documents
Upload scanned copies of Class 10 certificate, Class 12 marksheet, category certificate (if applicable), and passport-size photograph. Each file must be under 200KB in JPG/PDF format.
Fill Your Choices
Search and add institute-branch combinations in order of preference. You can add up to 25,000 choices. Use the college predictor to identify realistic options based on your rank.
Lock Your Choices
Review your choice order carefully and click 'Lock Choices'. Locked choices cannot be modified. The system assigns the highest-preference eligible seat during allotment.
Print Confirmation
Download and save the choice-filling confirmation slip for your records. This is proof of successful registration.
