JEE Advanced Rank Predictor from Answer Key 2026

Calculate your score from the official answer key and predict your CRL rank ahead of the official declaration

How to Predict Your JEE Advanced 2026 Rank from Answer Key

JEE Advanced 2026 results were declared on June 1, 2026. Before the result, the official answer key was released a few days after the exam on jeeadv.ac.in, allowing candidates to calculate their exact score and predict their rank ahead of the official declaration — the same method below still helps you sanity-check your official rank or plan for a future attempt.

The rank predictor works by mapping your calculated score to historical rank distributions. JEE Advanced 2026 had approximately 1,79,694 candidates appear, of whom 56,880 qualified. The CRL rank directly corresponds to your position among all qualified candidates.

For 2026, the exam is on two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2), each of 180 marks, totalling 360 marks. Question types include MCQ (single correct), MSQ (multiple correct with partial marking), and numerical answer type questions. The marking scheme varies by section and paper.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about JEE Advanced rank prediction from answer key

1
How accurate is the JEE Advanced rank predictor from answer key?
The answer key rank predictor is highly accurate — typically within ±200 ranks — because it uses your actual marked responses against the official answer key. The main uncertainty comes from slight variations in difficulty normalization across zones and the exact number of candidates appearing. After the official result, your predicted rank usually matches within 5-10%.
2
How do I calculate my JEE Advanced 2026 score from the answer key?
Download your official response sheet from jeeadv.ac.in. Match each answer against the official answer key. For correct answers in 3-mark MCQs add +3, deduct -1 for wrong. For 4-mark full-integer type questions add +4, no negative. For partial-marking MSQ questions you get +1 to +4 based on correct subset selected. Sum Paper 1 and Paper 2 for your total score out of 360.
3
What score is needed to qualify JEE Advanced 2026?
Based on JEE Advanced 2025 qualifying cutoffs: General category needs approximately 90 marks total (45 per paper) with at least 25% aggregate in each subject. OBC-NCL needs ~81 marks, SC/ST/PwD need ~45 marks. The preparatory course cutoff is half the category-specific qualifying mark.
4
Can I use the rank predictor before the official JEE Advanced result?
Yes — the answer key rank predictor works as soon as the official answer key is released (typically a few days after the exam), well before the official result is declared. You enter your response-sheet answers, and the tool calculates your expected score and maps it to historical rank distributions to give you a predicted CRL and category rank.
5
How is JEE Advanced rank calculated — is it just total marks?
JEE Advanced rank (CRL) is based on aggregate marks in Paper 1 + Paper 2. There is also a subject-wise qualifying cutoff — you must score above the minimum in each of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates who meet both the aggregate and subject-wise cutoffs are ranked by aggregate. Ties are broken by subject order (Maths > Physics > Chemistry).
