JEE Advanced AAT Result 2026 – Date, Portal & Score Details
When and where the AAT 2026 result is declared, what it shows, and how it feeds into B.Arch admission via JoSAA.
AAT 2026 Result Declaration
The AAT result is one of the final pieces of information a B.Arch aspirant needs before JoSAA counselling for architecture seats can meaningfully begin. It is declared on the same official portal used throughout the JEE Advanced cycle — jeeadv.ac.in — and candidates log in with their existing JEE Advanced credentials to view it. There is no separate AAT website, and no separate account needs to be created to check the result.
When Is the Result Typically Declared?
Because AAT is evaluated manually — panels of examiners, usually architecture faculty from the conducting IIT, assess drawing-based and subjective responses rather than running them through an automated scoring system — the result generally takes a little longer to compile than a purely objective exam would. In past cycles, this has typically meant the result is declared within roughly a week of the exam date, though candidates should always confirm the specific date announced on the official portal for that year rather than assuming a fixed gap.
What Does the AAT Result Show?
Unlike the JEE Advanced result, which comes with a detailed All India Rank, category rank, and cutoff information, the AAT result is structured differently. It typically presents the candidate's score or marks obtained in AAT — sometimes with a section-wise breakdown — along with a clear indication of whether the candidate has met the qualifying threshold required for B.Arch seat consideration. AAT does not produce a competitive all-India merit rank the way JEE Advanced does; its primary function is to establish whether a candidate has cleared the qualifying bar, not to rank candidates against each other in a granular way.
How AAT Result Feeds Into B.Arch Admission
Once the AAT result is out, JoSAA counselling uses two pieces of information together to determine B.Arch eligibility: the candidate's JEE Advanced rank, and their AAT qualification status. A candidate must have both a valid JEE Advanced rank and a qualifying AAT score to appear in the B.Arch seat allotment pool during JoSAA rounds. Candidates who cleared JEE Advanced but did not register for AAT, or who registered but did not meet the AAT qualifying cutoff, will simply not see B.Arch options available to them when filling their JoSAA choices, even though their regular B.Tech options remain fully intact.
Steps to Check Your AAT Result
- Visit jeeadv.ac.in on or after the announced result date
- Log in using your JEE Advanced registration number and password/date of birth
- Navigate to the AAT result or scorecard section
- Check your score, section-wise breakup if provided, and qualification status
- Download and save a copy of your AAT scorecard for your records
After the AAT Result
Once the AAT result confirms qualification, candidates should turn their attention to JoSAA counselling registration and choice filling, where B.Arch programs at eligible IITs will now appear as selectable options alongside any B.Tech branches the candidate is also eligible for. It is worth reviewing seat matrices and previous years' B.Arch closing ranks carefully at this stage, since B.Arch seats are limited in number and concentrated in only a few institutes.
