B.Arch College Predictor 2026

Which NIT or SPA Can You Get with Your JEE Main Paper 2A Rank?

Use the Real Predictor Tool

This page is a guide to B.Arch admission via Paper 2A. For an interactive, rank-based prediction, use our JEE Main Paper 2 College Predictor tool.

B.Arch admission through JoSAA uses a completely separate exam and rank from the regular B.Tech route. Candidates seeking B.Arch must appear for JEE Main Paper 2A, which tests Mathematics, an Aptitude Test, and a Drawing Test — distinct from Paper 1's Physics-Chemistry-Mathematics format used for B.Tech admission.

A limited set of institutes offer B.Arch through JoSAA: several NITs including NIT Calicut, NIT Hamirpur, NIT Patna, NIT Raipur, NIT Rourkela, and NIT Trichy, plus the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) Delhi as a dedicated architecture GFTI. Because B.Arch seat intake per institute is small (typically 20-40 seats), the applicant-to-seat ratio can make cutoffs tighter than the seat count alone might suggest.

Just like B.Tech, NIT B.Arch seats follow the 50% Home State / 50% Other State quota split, so your own state's NIT (if it offers B.Arch) is usually your most achievable option. No NATA score is required for JoSAA-participating institutes — private architecture colleges and some state counselling processes require NATA separately.

Frequently Asked Questions – B.Arch College Predictor 2026

Common questions about predicting B.Arch admission via JEE Main Paper 2A

1
Where is the actual B.Arch college predictor tool?
This page is a guide to how B.Arch admission through JEE Main Paper 2A and JoSAA works. For an interactive rank-based prediction, use our JEE Main Paper 2 College Predictor tool, which covers B.Arch (Paper 2A) and B.Planning (Paper 2B) admission chances at NITs and GFTIs using JoSAA cutoff data.
2
Which rank should I use for B.Arch prediction — my B.Tech rank or Paper 2A rank?
You must use your JEE Main Paper 2A rank exclusively for B.Arch prediction. Paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech) and Paper 2A (B.Arch) are separate papers with separate ranks. If you appeared for both, you will receive two distinct All India Ranks — do not use your Paper 1 rank when predicting B.Arch admission chances.
3
What is the JEE Main Paper 2A exam pattern?
Paper 2A (B.Arch) tests Mathematics (Part I), an Aptitude Test (Part II), and a Drawing Test (Part III). Unlike Paper 1, which is entirely objective, Paper 2A includes a subjective Drawing section evaluated separately. Your Paper 2A rank is calculated from your combined performance across all three sections.
4
Which NITs and institutes offer B.Arch through JoSAA?
Several NITs offer B.Arch (Bachelor of Architecture) through JoSAA counselling, including NIT Calicut, NIT Hamirpur, NIT Patna, NIT Raipur, NIT Rourkela, and NIT Trichy, along with the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) Delhi as a GFTI. Seat intake for B.Arch is much smaller than B.Tech — typically 20-40 seats per institute — making cutoffs competitive despite the smaller applicant pool.
5
Is NATA required for NIT B.Arch admission?
No. For NITs and GFTIs that participate in JoSAA counselling, B.Arch admission is based entirely on your JEE Main Paper 2A rank. NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) is a separate requirement used by many private architecture colleges and some state government institutes, but not by JoSAA-participating NITs and SPA Delhi.
6
Does the Home State quota apply to B.Arch at NITs?
Yes. Just like B.Tech programmes, NITs allocate 50% of B.Arch seats under Home State (HS) quota and 50% under Other State (OS) quota. HS quota candidates — those who completed Class 12 from that state — typically face a much less competitive cutoff than OS candidates for the same NIT and programme.
