General Dress Code Guidelines
Generally Recommended
- Light, simple, comfortable clothing
- Half-sleeve tops/shirts where practical
- Open footwear like sandals or slippers
- Minimal or no accessories
Generally Discouraged
- Clothing with large metal buttons/buckles
- Heavy jewelry or metallic accessories
- Closed lace-up shoes with thick soles
- Caps, hats, or scarves (unless religious, with prior reporting)
* Candidates requiring religious or culturally-mandated clothing were generally accommodated but asked to report earlier for additional frisking.
Why the Dress Code Existed
The dress code guidelines were primarily aimed at preventing the use of concealed electronic devices or unfair means during the exam, and at speeding up the security frisking process at the exam center so that all candidates could be checked and seated on time.
