1
What are the JEE Advanced 2026 qualifying cutoff marks?
JEE Advanced 2026 result was declared on June 1, 2026, and exact qualifying cutoff marks are now available on jeeadv.ac.in. For reference, the 2025 pattern (actual) was: General ~94 marks aggregate with minimum ~10 per subject. OBC-NCL/EWS ~84. SC/ST/PwD ~48. These are qualifying marks for a rank — NOT for IIT admission.
2
How many marks are needed for IIT Bombay CSE?
Qualifying JEE Advanced is just the first step. For IIT Bombay CSE (General AI), you need a JEE Advanced rank under ~67, which typically requires scoring 300+ marks out of 360. Just meeting the cutoff (~94 marks) is far from enough for top IIT branches.
3
What is the difference between qualifying cutoff and IIT admission cutoff?
Qualifying cutoff = minimum marks to receive a JEE Advanced rank (~94 for General 2025). IIT admission cutoff = the rank needed for a specific IIT-branch via JoSAA (e.g., rank under 67 for IIT Bombay CSE). They are very different numbers.
4
What happens if I score below the JEE Advanced cutoff?
If you score below the qualifying cutoff in any subject OR overall, you will not receive a JEE Advanced rank. You cannot participate in JoSAA for IIT seats. However, your JEE Main rank remains valid for NIT/IIIT/GFTI seats via JoSAA.
5
Is the JEE Advanced cutoff the same every year?
No. Cutoffs vary based on paper difficulty and total candidates. 2025: General 94, OBC-NCL/EWS 84, SC/ST/PwD 48. 2024: General 90, OBC-NCL/EWS 81, SC/ST/PwD 45. Expect similar range in 2026.
