Which IIT has the lowest cutoff for CSE in 2026?

Among the 23 IITs, the newest IITs (Tirupati, Palakkad, Dharwad, Bhilai, Jammu, Goa) have the highest closing ranks (i.e., accessible with higher JEE Advanced ranks). For CSE, new IITs may have closing ranks in the 5,000–15,000 range for General category. IIT Bombay has the lowest closing rank (most competitive) — typically under 100 for General AI.

Is JoSAA 2025 cutoff a reliable estimate for IIT cutoff 2026?

Can I get an IIT with JEE Main rank alone?

No. IIT seats are allocated exclusively through JEE Advanced rank via JoSAA. JEE Main alone qualifies you for NIT, IIIT and GFTI seats. To be eligible for JEE Advanced, you need to be among the top 2.5 lakh (approx.) candidates in JEE Main and also meet the top 20 percentile or 75% marks criterion.
