JEE Advanced 2026 Answer Key

Provisional answer key released May 25, 2026 · Final key & result declared June 1, 2026

How to Use the JEE Advanced 2026 Answer Key

The JEE Advanced answer key helps candidates compare their marked responses with the official provisional and final answers. Use it along with your response sheet to estimate subject-wise marks, total score and likely rank range before checking JoSAA choices.

If the provisional key has an answer you believe is incorrect, review the question, paper code and official objection window carefully. Once the final key is published, rank calculation follows that final key and no further changes are normally accepted.

Step-by-Step: Filing an Effective Objection

A well-supported objection against the provisional answer key needs more than a disagreement — the expert committee generally requires credible reference material. Candidates typically cite NCERT textbooks, standard reference books (HC Verma, Irodov, NCERT Chemistry/Maths) or widely accepted scientific reasoning to justify why a different option (or multiple options) should be treated as correct. Objections without supporting evidence are rarely accepted.

It's important to challenge only genuine errors rather than every doubtful question, since each objection usually carries a fee and frivolous challenges rarely succeed. Focus on questions where you are confident the key contradicts a standard textbook derivation or where the question itself is ambiguous, has a typo, or includes data inconsistent with any valid answer choice.

Once the objection window closes, IIT Roorkee's subject-matter experts review all submissions and publish the final key along with the result — no further objections are considered after this point, and the final key is treated as conclusive for rank computation.

If IIT Roorkee's subject expert committee accepts an objection, the question is either corrected, awarded full marks to all candidates who attempted it, or dropped entirely from scoring (bonus marks to all), depending on the nature of the error. The final answer key document typically lists question-wise correction remarks where applicable — for instance, noting if a question was awarded to multiple options or dropped. These are usually footnoted or listed separately in the official PDF alongside the question paper code mapping.
