IKGPTU Rank Predictor 2026 – Estimate Your Counselling Rank

I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), with its main campus at Kapurthala, is one of the largest state technical universities in North India, affiliating dozens of engineering, pharmacy, and management colleges across Punjab. Unlike JoSAA (for IITs/NITs) or state CETs with their own exam, admission to most IKGPTU-affiliated B.Tech programs is driven primarily by your JEE Main rank/percentile, through centralized counselling conducted by the Punjab state admission authority.

This means there is no separate "IKGPTU entrance rank" to calculate — what matters is how your JEE Main 2026 All India Rank or percentile compares with previous years' closing ranks at specific IKGPTU-affiliated colleges, for your target branch and category.

A useful way to predict your standing: look up last year's opening/closing ranks for the colleges and branches you are interested in, and see where your current rank falls relative to those numbers. Since the network includes 100+ affiliated institutions of varying reputation, candidates across a very wide rank band — from under 50,000 to well beyond 2,00,000 — typically find a seat somewhere in the system.

1. Note your JEE Main 2026 All India Rank and percentile for your category.
2. Shortlist the IKGPTU-affiliated colleges and branches you are interested in.
3. Compare your rank against the previous year's closing ranks for those specific college-branch combinations.
4. Register for Punjab state counselling as soon as it opens, and fill a wide spread of choices rather than only top picks.
5. Keep an eye on multiple counselling rounds, since cutoffs typically relax in later rounds as seats vacate.

If you are also considering NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs through JoSAA with the same JEE Main rank, our JEE Main College Predictor can help you compare chances across both central and state-level options side by side.
