Academic Qualifications
- Passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects
- Minimum 45% marks in PCM aggregate for General/EWS/OBC candidates
- Minimum 40% marks in PCM aggregate for SC/ST/PwD candidates
- Must have passed each of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics individually
- Class 12 appearing candidates can also apply (subject to passing before admission)
Age Criteria
- Must be at least 17 years of age by December 31, 2026
- Born on or after July 1, 2004 to be eligible
- No maximum age limit prescribed by WBJEEB
- Age relaxation of 5 years for PwD candidates (if applicable)
Domicile & Residency
- WB domicile required for Home State quota seats at MAKAUT colleges
- Candidates must have studied Class 10 or 12 in West Bengal OR parents must be WB domicile
- IIEST Shibpur (centrally funded) — domicile not required, open to all India
- All India quota seats at certain WB colleges open to non-WB candidates with WBJEE rank
Who is NOT Eligible
- Candidates who did not appear in WBJEE 2026 (unless applying for JEE Main quota seats)
- Candidates who scored below 45% in PCM aggregate (General category)
- Those born after July 1, 2009 (under 17 by Dec 31, 2026)
- Candidates who did not pass Class 12 with PCM as compulsory subjects
- Students who already hold a B.Tech/B.E. degree from any university
