JoSAA 2027 Allotment Letter – Download & Contents
How the allotment letter download process is expected to work in JoSAA 2027, based on the stable mechanism used in recent years.
Disclaimer: JoSAA 2027 counselling has not started as of October 2026, and no 2027 allotment letters exist yet. This page explains the stable download process and letter format used in recent JoSAA cycles so you know what to expect. Confirm exact 2027 portal steps once JoSAA opens the official counselling website.
Why the Allotment Letter Matters
The JoSAA provisional allotment letter is your official proof of allotment, used by the institute's admission office to verify your seat during document checks and physical reporting. This has been true in every recent JoSAA cycle and is expected to remain unchanged for 2027 — institutes will not process admissions based on the results page alone; they require the timestamped letter generated by the portal.
Each round produces its own version of the letter since your institute, branch, or category can change between rounds if you float or slide instead of freezing. It's good practice to download and save the letter after every round you receive a seat in.
