JEE Mains College Predictor – All Counselling Processes 2026

One guide covering JoSAA, CSAB, JAC Delhi, and state counselling options using your JEE Main rank. Maximise your admission chances.

All Counselling Processes Using JEE Main Rank

JEE Main rank opens doors to multiple counselling processes beyond just JoSAA. Understanding the complete landscape helps you maximise your admission options. Here's the complete picture for 2026: JoSAA (June 2–July 16, 5 rounds) handles IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, and 32 GFTIs — approximately 50,000+ seats. CSAB (August, 2 special rounds) provides additional rounds for the same NIT+ system colleges. JAC Delhi (June–July, parallel to JoSAA) handles DTU, NSUT, IGDTUW, GGSIPU — approximately 15,000+ seats.

State counsellings add thousands more options: MHT CET (Maharashtra), KCET (Karnataka), REAP (Rajasthan), AP EAPCET, TS EAMCET, and UPSEE/AKTU all accept JEE Main-qualified candidates. Candidates who participate in all relevant processes have a significantly higher chance of securing their best possible college and branch.

Strategy for Using All Counselling Processes

The optimal multi-counselling strategy: (1) Register for JoSAA first (mandatory if qualified for JEE Advanced/Main). Fill 80–100+ choices with aspirational to safe options. (2) Simultaneously register for JAC Delhi if targeting DTU, NSUT, NSUT East, or IIIT Delhi — this runs in parallel and doesn't conflict. (3) Register for your home state counselling if applicable (MHT CET, KCET, etc.) — these open different opportunities.

After JoSAA Round 5: If you have a satisfactory seat, accept it and withdraw from other processes. If not, participate in CSAB and state counsellings. Key rule: you cannot be enrolled in two institutions simultaneously — accept only one final seat. Our multi-counselling predictor helps you see the full picture at once.

Common questions about using JEE Main rank across all counselling processes

1
How many counselling processes use JEE Main score?
Multiple counselling processes use JEE Main score: (1) JoSAA — for IITs, NITs, IIITs, GFTIs (5 rounds, June-July, ending July 16). (2) CSAB — special rounds for NIT+ system after JoSAA (2 rounds, August). (3) JAC Delhi — for DTU, NSUT, IGDTUW, GGSIPU (Delhi state). (4) State counsellings — MHT CET alternative, REAP Rajasthan, TS EAMCET alternative (Telangana/AP), KCET Karnataka, WBJEE alternative, and many others accept JEE Main score with bonus weightage.
2
Should I participate in both JoSAA and CSAB?
CSAB runs after JoSAA concludes. If you got a seat in JoSAA Round 5 and are satisfied, you don't need CSAB. If you didn't get your preferred seat or couldn't get a seat in JoSAA, CSAB special rounds (2 rounds in August: SR1 Aug 6–11, SR2 Aug 12–17) offer a second chance for NIT/IIIT/GFTI seats. CSAB 2026 also has NEUT (North Eastern Union Territory) seats with relaxed eligibility. Participation in CSAB is free and open to all JoSAA-eligible candidates.
3
What state counsellings accept JEE Main score?
State counsellings accepting JEE Main score: MHT CET (Maharashtra) accepts JEE Main score for a percentage of NIT/IIIT-equivalent state colleges. AP EAPCET provides bonus marks for JEE Main qualifiers. TS EAMCET similarly. KCET Karnataka accepts JEE Main qualified students for certain private colleges. Rajasthan Technical University (REAP) uses JEE Main. UP (AKTU) uses JEE Main. These state routes give options for candidates who don't get JoSAA/CSAB allotments.
4
Can I participate in JoSAA, CSAB, and JAC Delhi simultaneously?
Yes. JoSAA, CSAB, and JAC Delhi are separate processes with separate registrations and schedules. Participating in one does not prevent participation in others. However, be careful about seat acceptance: if you accept a JoSAA seat and also accept a JAC Delhi seat, you may lose one. Read the rules for each counselling carefully. The general advice is to keep JoSAA/CSAB participation active as long as you have not secured a satisfactory seat.
5
What is the best strategy to use JEE Main rank across all counsellings?
Optimal strategy: (1) Participate in JoSAA — fill 80–100+ choices. (2) Simultaneously register for JAC Delhi if targeting DTU/NSUT/IIIT Delhi. (3) After JoSAA Round 5, if unsatisfied, participate in CSAB. (4) Register for relevant state counselling if your state has processes accepting JEE Main. (5) As a backup, register for state-level counsellings (MHT CET, KCET) if eligible. Use our all-counselling predictor to see options across all these processes in one place.
