CSAB College Predictor by Rank 2026

Enter your JEE Main rank — get a ranked list of all feasible NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs available in CSAB 2026

Why Use a Rank-Based CSAB Predictor?

A rank-based CSAB predictor gives you the most direct and actionable output: enter your rank, and immediately see which of the 31 NITs, 25 IIITs, and 33 GFTIs are within your reach through CSAB 2026's special rounds.

The predictor compares your rank against CSAB 2025 (and 2024) closing ranks for every institute-branch-category combination and labels each option as:

  • High Chance: Your rank is well below the 2025 closing rank
  • Moderate Chance: Your rank is near the closing rank (within 20%)
  • Low Chance: Your rank is above the closing rank but it's included as a stretch option

This tiered approach helps you build a balanced CSAB choice list — starting with high-chance options as anchors and adding moderate-chance options for potential upgrades.

Steps to Use the CSAB Rank Predictor

  1. 1

Enter your JEE Main 2026 rank

Use your Common Rank List (CRL) rank, not percentile. You can find this on jeemain.nta.nic.in after result declaration.

  2. 2

    Select your category

Choose from General, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, or ST. If you have PwD status, select it as well for additional reservations.

  3. 3

    Choose your home state

NITs allocate 50% seats to home-state candidates. Selecting your state correctly shows you both home-state and other-state quota options.

  4. 4

    Review and shortlist

Browse the ranked output list. Mark your preferred institute-branch combinations and use them to fill your CSAB choice list.

  5. 5

    Register on csab.nic.in

CSAB 2026 registration opens after JoSAA Round 5. Register separately, fill choices based on your shortlist, and submit before the deadline.

Frequently Asked Questions – CSAB College Predictor by Rank

Common questions about using the CSAB rank-based college predictor for 2026

1
How do I use the CSAB college predictor by rank?
Enter your JEE Main 2026 CRL rank, select your category (General/OBC-NCL/EWS/SC/ST), gender, and home state. The predictor then searches CSAB 2025 closing rank data to show all institute-branch combinations where your rank falls below the closing rank — indicating a reasonable chance of allotment in CSAB 2026.
2
What rank range benefits most from CSAB 2026?
Candidates with JEE Main rank between 8,000 and 2,00,000 benefit most from CSAB 2026. Below 8,000, almost all desired seats are available in JoSAA itself. Above 2,00,000, only the newest NITs with non-core branches and NEUT special seats remain. The sweet spot for CSAB is typically the 15,000–80,000 rank band for non-CSE branches at established NITs.
3
Is the predictor by rank different from a general CSAB predictor?
The core logic is the same — both compare your rank against CSAB closing ranks. The 'by rank' version is optimized for entering your raw rank and getting a ranked list of all feasible options, sorted by probability. A general predictor may additionally let you filter by institute type, branch, or state. Both use the same underlying 2025 cutoff data.
4
Did CSAB 2026 have the same colleges as CSAB 2025?
Mostly yes. The 31 NITs, 25 IIITs, and 33 GFTIs that participated in CSAB 2025 largely participated in CSAB 2026 as well, with CSAB 2026 overall expanding to 114 institutes. Seat matrices changed somewhat — some institutes added new programs, changed seat counts, or added female-only supernumerary seats. The final CSAB 2026 seat matrix is archived on csab.nic.in.
5
Can I use percentile instead of rank in the CSAB predictor?
Our predictor works best with your JEE Main 2026 CRL rank. If you only know your percentile, use our percentile-to-rank converter first. As a rough guide: 99 percentile ≈ rank 8,700; 98 percentile ≈ rank 17,400; 95 percentile ≈ rank 43,500; 90 percentile ≈ rank 87,000 (for 8.74 lakh B.E./B.Tech candidates in 2026).
