WBJEE Merit List 2026 – Rank List, How It's Prepared & Where to Check

The WBJEE merit list is the state-level rank list prepared by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board after evaluating the WBJEE exam — the entrance test for admission to engineering, technology and pharmacy courses in West Bengal's government and private colleges.

This merit list is specific to the main engineering WBJEE exam (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics). It should not be confused with the separate merit lists prepared for JENPAS UG (nursing/paramedical) or JEHOM (homeopathy), which are run as independent exams under the same board.

Candidates are ranked based on their total marks scored in the WBJEE exam. In case of a tie, the board applies a defined tie-breaking sequence — typically prioritising higher marks in Mathematics, followed by Physics, then Chemistry, and finally other criteria such as age, as specified in that year's information bulletin.

Alongside the overall General merit list, the board publishes separate category-wise rank lists — for EWS, OBC-A, OBC-B, SC, ST and PwD — which determine seat allotment within reserved-category seats. For details on how reservation works, see our WBJEE Reservation Policy 2026 page.

Once your rank is confirmed, register for WBJEE counselling, check the available seats across government and private engineering colleges — see our WBJEE Seat Matrix for Private Colleges 2026 — and fill your choices strategically.
