Who Is Expected to Be Eligible for JoSAA 2027?

JoSAA counselling has consistently served two groups of candidates across every recent cycle: JEE Advanced qualifiers, who are eligible for seats at all IITs plus NITs/IIITs/GFTIs, and JEE Main-only qualifiers, who can compete only for NIT, IIIT, and GFTI seats. There is no indication this structure will change for 2027, though the exact candidate counts and seat numbers for that year are not yet known.

Beyond the rank requirement, candidates have consistently needed to meet academic eligibility — passing Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and clearing a minimum marks threshold in the board exam. These academic conditions are expected to carry forward into 2027 in substantially the same form.
