JEE Main College Predictor for AKTU/UPTU Colleges

Many students search for a "jee mains college predictor aktu" or "uptu" tool, assuming AKTU colleges are covered by the same national counselling as NITs. They are not. AKTU — Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow (formerly UPTU) — affiliates hundreds of engineering colleges across Uttar Pradesh, both government-funded (like HBTU Kanpur, KNIT Sultanpur, MMMUT Gorakhpur) and private. Admission to these colleges runs through UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling), a separate state-level process.

JoSAA, by contrast, only allots seats at IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. If your target college is affiliated to AKTU and isn't a centrally-funded institute, JoSAA counselling and a JoSAA-based predictor simply won't have data for it.

• Register on the official UPTAC portal once registration opens — this is separate from JoSAA registration.
• Refer to previous years' UPTAC closing ranks (published on the AKTU/UPTAC site) for your target college and branch as a reference point.
• Government AKTU institutes (HBTU, KNIT, MMMUT, IET Lucknow) are significantly more competitive than private AKTU colleges.
• If you also qualify for NIT/IIIT/GFTI seats through JoSAA, use our JEE Main College Predictor to compare those options side by side with UPTAC choices before deciding.

For Maharashtra state colleges under a similar separate system, see our Maharashtra JEE Main predictor guide.
