JEE Main 2026 Topper List — How the 100 Percentile List Works

JEE Main 2026 has already concluded and its 100-percentile scorers were announced. Here's how NTA's topper announcement process generally works.

Names & Scores Not Reproduced Here

To avoid stating unverified specifics, this page intentionally does not list the names, exact scores, or states of JEE Main 2026's 100-percentile scorers. For the confirmed, official list, refer to NTA's press release and result archive on jeemain.nta.nic.in.

JEE Main 2026's 100-Percentile Scorers Were Announced

As part of the standard result declaration process, NTA released JEE Main 2026's result along with a list of candidates who achieved a 100 percentile score — the maximum possible percentile — computed across the combined Session 1 and Session 2 attempts. This follows the same pattern NTA has used in recent years.

How NTA's Percentile-Based "Topper List" Works

Unlike a simple "highest marks wins" topper list, JEE Main uses percentile-based normalisation across shifts and sessions. This means:

  • Multiple candidates can — and typically do — achieve the exact 100 percentile score, since percentile reflects relative performance within each shift's candidate pool, not an absolute score.
  • NTA does not publish a strict 1st/2nd/3rd ranked list of toppers; instead, all 100-percentile scorers are listed together.
  • Among 100-percentile scorers, actual All India Rank differentiation (for JEE Advanced eligibility ranking, etc.) is done using the standard tie-breaking criteria (see our tie-breaking rule guide).
  • NTA's official press release at result time typically also shares state-wise and category-wise topper counts and brief profile highlights.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the JEE Main 2026 topper list

1
Were JEE Main 2026 toppers announced?
Yes. JEE Main 2026 (both sessions) has already concluded, and as part of the standard result process, NTA announced the candidates who achieved a 100 percentile score (the highest possible percentile) across the combined Session 1 and Session 2 results, following the pattern used in previous years.
2
How does NTA decide who is a 'topper' in JEE Main?
NTA does not create a single ranked '1st, 2nd, 3rd' topper list. Instead, since percentile is calculated relative to each session/shift's candidate pool, multiple candidates commonly achieve the same 100 percentile score. NTA publishes the list of all such 100-percentile scorers together, without further ranking them relative to each other — the actual All India Rank differentiation among them happens only via the tie-breaking criteria.
3
How many candidates typically get 100 percentile in JEE Main?
The number of 100-percentile scorers varies each year and across sessions, and has historically ranged from single digits to over a dozen candidates combined across both sessions, since percentile is computed per shift and normalized across shifts. Exact 2026 figures should be verified from NTA's official result announcement archive.
4
Where can I find the exact names and details of JEE Main 2026 toppers?
NTA typically publishes state-wise and category-wise details of 100-percentile scorers in its official press release at the time of result declaration. For the precise, verified 2026 list, refer to NTA's official press releases and the JEE Main result archive on jeemain.nta.nic.in, since exact names are not reproduced on this page to avoid inaccuracy.
5
Does a 100 percentile guarantee an IIT seat?
A 100 percentile in JEE Main only qualifies a candidate for JEE Advanced (if eligible) — it does not by itself guarantee an IIT seat. IIT admission depends on performance in JEE Advanced and the resulting Common Rank List, which is a separate exam and ranking system from JEE Main.
