CSAB Round 2 Seat Allotment Predictor 2026

Predict your CSAB Special Round 2 (SR2) seat based on JEE Main rank and category. SR2 result was declared August 12, 2026, with reporting through August 17, bringing fresh seats from SR1 withdrawals

CSAB Round 2 — How It Works

CSAB SR2 is the second and typically final regular special round in CSAB 2026; its result was declared August 12, 2026, with reporting running through August 17, 2026. It uses:

  • Your original submitted choice list (no re-filling required)
  • All remaining seats, including those freed by SR1 withdrawals and non-acceptances
  • The same rank, category, home state, and gender inputs used in SR1

SR2 allotment is based on the same algorithm as SR1 — your highest-priority choice for which your rank qualifies and seats are available. If you received an option in SR1 and participated in SR2, CSAB will attempt to allot you something equal or better.

CSAB 2026 SR2 has concluded, and for most candidates it was the final CSAB opportunity for the cycle. NEUT ran separately for NE state and UT candidates. Anyone still without a seat should now look at institute-level spot admissions or other alternatives.

SR2 Strategy Tips

  • Always accept your SR1 allotment — not accepting means you cannot participate in SR2.
  • Study SR1 allotment results carefully before SR2 — check which institutes had seats left after SR1.
  • Do not withdraw from CSAB after SR1 unless you have a confirmed admission elsewhere.
  • NE state and UT candidates had a separate NEUT round after SR2 — check csab.nic.in for its outcome if this applied to you.
  • Keep all documents ready for physical reporting (August 13–18, 2026) after SR2 acceptance — reporting deadlines are tight.

Frequently Asked Questions – CSAB Round 2 Predictor 2026

Common questions about CSAB Round 2 seat allotment

1
Is Round 2 better than Round 1 in CSAB?
Round 2 can offer additional or better options because candidates who withdrew after Round 1 free up seats that re-enter the pool. However, some popular seats allotted in Round 1 that candidates accepted are no longer available. In practice, Round 2 cutoffs for most institutes are similar to Round 1, with marginal improvement for some branches. Always participate in Round 2 if you want to upgrade.
2
Can I get a better college in CSAB Round 2 than Round 1?
Yes, it is possible if a higher-priority option in your choice list becomes available due to Round 1 withdrawals. This is more likely for less popular branches at established NITs than for CSE at top institutes. The CSAB Round 2 allotment automatically upgrades you to the highest available choice on your list that is better than your Round 1 seat.
3
What happens to my Round 1 seat if I participate in Round 2?
In CSAB, Round 2 works differently from JoSAA's Float mechanism. When you accept a Round 1 allotment and register for Round 2, CSAB may allot you a better option. If you receive a Round 2 allotment, it replaces your Round 1 seat. If you don't receive a better option in Round 2, your Round 1 seat remains. Carefully read CSAB 2026 guidelines as the exact mechanism may be updated.
4
When was CSAB Round 2 in 2026?
CSAB Special Round 2 (SR2) result was declared August 12, 2026, with reporting running August 12–17, 2026, right after SR1 reporting (August 6–11, 2026). Physical institute reporting for CSAB followed on August 13–18, 2026. Both CSAB special rounds are now complete. Always verify current status at csab.nic.in.
5
Should I modify my CSAB choice list before Round 2?
In most CSAB cycles, choice modification between rounds is not permitted — you submit one choice list at the start and it applies to all rounds. However, CSAB 2026 may update this policy. Always check the official CSAB 2026 information brochure carefully. If modification is permitted, update your list to reflect any new information about campuses or placements you have gathered.
