Step-by-Step Withdrawal Process

  1. Log in to csab.nic.in using your application number and password.
  2. Navigate to "Withdrawal of Seat" in your dashboard.
  3. Select the reason for withdrawal and confirm your decision.
  4. Provide your bank account details (if not already submitted) for refund processing. NEFT/RTGS transfer only — ensure account number and IFSC are correct.
  5. Download and save the withdrawal acknowledgment receipt.
  6. Refund is credited within 10–15 working days after the counselling ends.

When Should You Withdraw?

  • Got a better offer elsewhere: If you secured admission in a private college (e.g., BITS, Manipal) or a state counselling seat that you prefer, withdraw from CSAB before the deadline.
  • Choosing to drop a year: If you decide to reappear for JEE Main 2027, withdraw from CSAB to get the refund.
  • Medical or personal reasons: Document the reason but proceed through the official withdrawal portal — do not simply not-report, as that forfeits your refund entirely.

Important Warning

If you do NOT withdraw officially and simply skip reporting, you will lose the entire seat acceptance fee with no refund. Always use the official withdrawal portal within the specified window.

Frequently Asked Questions – CSAB 2026 Withdrawal & Refund

Common queries about CSAB 2026 withdrawal process and refund amounts

1
How much refund will I get if I withdraw from CSAB 2026?
If you withdraw before the deadline, you get back ₹29,000 for General, EWS, and OBC-NCL candidates, and ₹13,000 for SC/ST candidates. The registration fee of ₹1,000 (Gen/OBC) or ₹500 (SC/ST/PwD) is non-refundable. Seat acceptance fee of ₹30,000 (Gen/EWS/OBC) or ₹15,000 (SC/ST) minus ₹1,000/₹2,000 processing charge is returned.
2
Can I withdraw from CSAB 2026 after physically reporting to the college?
Yes, but the refund amount reduces significantly after physical reporting. Candidates who have paid the first-year seat acceptance fee at the reporting centre must apply for withdrawal at the institute itself. The refund after institute reporting is typically only the refundable portion as per CSAB norms — consult your allotted institute's accounts section.
3
What is the last date to withdraw from CSAB 2026?
The withdrawal window is typically open until the end of the last CSAB Special Round (SR2). Exact dates are published in the CSAB 2026 schedule on csab.nic.in. Withdrawing before SR2 allotment is announced gives you the maximum refund.
4
How long does the CSAB refund take to process?
CSAB refunds are typically processed within 10–15 working days after the counselling process concludes. The amount is credited directly to the bank account used during CSAB payment. Track status on the CSAB portal using your application number.
5
If I withdraw from CSAB, can I still join another college through state counselling?
Yes. Withdrawing from CSAB frees you from all CSAB obligations. You can independently participate in any state-level counselling (UPSEE, AP EAMCET, TS EAMCET, etc.) or private college admissions simultaneously. CSAB withdrawal does not affect your eligibility for other admission processes.
