WBJEE Rank Predictor 2026

Estimate your WBJEE 2026 rank from your expected PCM score — with score-to-rank conversion tables based on 2025 data

WBJEE Score to Rank Conversion – How It Works

WBJEE ranks are assigned based on total PCM marks from Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics + Chemistry). The exam has a maximum of 200 marks (Paper 1: 100, Paper 2: 100). Approximately 1–1.2 lakh students appear each year.

The WBJEE Rank Predictor 2026 estimates your rank based on expected score using historical score distributions from 2023–2025. Since WBJEE difficulty varies slightly each year, the predictor uses a range rather than a single rank value.

Key difference from JEE Main: WBJEE uses actual marks (not percentile), and Mathematics carries extra weight in tie-breaking. Two students with the same total may get different ranks based on their Maths score.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about WBJEE 2026 rank prediction from score

1
How is WBJEE rank calculated from marks?
WBJEE rank is calculated from total marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry papers. Mathematics (Paper 1) carries 100 marks and is weighted more heavily. Rank is based on overall merit after applying tie-breaking rules (Maths score first, then PCM aggregate).
2
What score gives rank under 1000 in WBJEE 2026?
Based on WBJEE 2025 analysis, a score of approximately 180–200+ out of 200 (PCM combined) is needed to secure rank under 1000. Competition is extremely high at this level — these are the students aiming for Jadavpur University CSE.
3
What is WBJEE 2026 marking scheme?
WBJEE 2026 has Paper 1 (Mathematics, 75 questions) and Paper 2 (Physics + Chemistry, 40+40 questions). Category 1 questions: +1 correct, -0.25 wrong. Category 2 questions: +2 correct, -0.5 wrong. Category 3 (multiple correct): +2 correct, no partial, -0.5 if any wrong.
4
How many candidates appear in WBJEE 2026?
Approximately 1–1.2 lakh candidates typically appear in WBJEE each year. This is much smaller than JEE Main, so ranks are compressed. A rank of 50,000 in WBJEE is roughly equivalent to a JEE Main rank of several lakhs in terms of percentile.
5
When will WBJEE 2026 rank be released?
WBJEE 2026 ranks are expected to be released in July 2026 along with results on wbjeeb.nic.in. The rank card will be downloadable from the official portal after results are declared.
