Understanding TS EAMCET Phase 1 Allotment

TG EAPCET (still widely searched as TS EAMCET) Phase 1 is the first and typically the largest of the multi-phase Convenor Quota counselling process run by TGCHE for engineering admissions into Telangana. Unlike a single-shot allotment, TG EAPCET counselling runs across web options entry, certificate verification, a mock allotment (to help candidates gauge their likely outcome before finalizing choices), and then the actual seat allotment. Phase 1 sets the tone for the entire admission cycle because it draws in the largest volume of candidates and the widest spread of colleges, from top-tier private institutions to remote district-level colleges filling up rarely-chosen branches.

A common mistake candidates make in Phase 1 is filling too few web options or ranking options in the wrong priority order. Because TG EAPCET allotment is a one-shot algorithm per phase (unlike JoSAA's iterative rounds), if you rank a less-preferred branch above a more-preferred one, and both are within your reach, the system will lock you into the higher-ranked (in your list) option even if a better one was mathematically available. Candidates should also avoid leaving out "safe" colleges entirely — an aggressive list with only top colleges can result in no allotment at all in Phase 1, forcing a wait until Phase 2.

Telangana's local area reservation is one of the most consequential and least understood aspects of TS EAMCET allotment. Under the Telangana Educational Institutions (Reservation) rules, roughly 85% of seats in each college-branch combination are reserved for local-area candidates — broadly, those who have studied in Telangana for the requisite number of years or whose parents are domiciled here — while about 15% go to non-local/open category candidates. This local-area quota operates independently of, and in addition to, the standard vertical reservation for BC-A/B/C/D/E, SC, ST, and EWS categories. A candidate's effective cutoff rank for a given branch therefore depends on the interaction of their local-area status and their category, which is why two candidates with similar ranks can see very different Phase 1 outcomes for the same college.

College-tier also plays a major role in how Phase 1 results should be interpreted. Government-run University colleges affiliated to JNTUH or Osmania University (OU) — such as the JNTUH constituent colleges — carry very low fees and correspondingly much tighter cutoffs, since seats are limited and demand is extremely high. Private colleges with a strong placement record, like CBIT, VNRVJIET, CVR College of Engineering, Vasavi College of Engineering, and MVSR Engineering College, also allot a defined share of seats under Convenor Quota in Phase 1 (separate from their Management Quota seats), and their cutoffs for popular branches like CSE and AI/ML can rival or exceed some University college cutoffs.

After the Phase 1 result, candidates must complete online self-reporting and tuition fee payment within the given window (July 10–14, 2026), followed by mandatory physical reporting with original documents to the allotted institute (July 25–28, 2026). Skipping either step forfeits the seat automatically — there is no manual review or grace period for missed deadlines. If you are unsatisfied with your Phase 1 result, do not withdraw; you can retain the seat and still apply fresh in later phases for an upgrade, since TS EAMCET allows phase-to-phase movement as long as you exercise your web options again.

Steps to Follow After Phase 1 Result

1

Check Your Allotment on tgeapcet.nic.in

Log in with your hall ticket number and date of birth. Download the allotment order showing your allotted college, branch, category, and quota (local/non-local).

2

Verify Category & Quota Tag

Confirm whether your seat was allotted under local-area or non-local quota, and under which reservation category. Errors here should be reported to TGCHE immediately.

3

Pay Tuition Fee & Self-Report Online

Complete fee payment and online self-reporting between July 10–14, 2026. This step is mandatory to retain your seat, regardless of whether you plan to upgrade later.

4

Physically Report to the Allotted Institute

Visit the allotted college in person with original certificates between July 25–28, 2026, for final document verification and admission confirmation.

5

Decide on Upgrade Options

If you want a better college or branch, stay in the system and participate in Phase 2 or the Final Phase by submitting fresh web options — Phase 1 choices are not carried forward automatically.

Local Area Reservation — Why It Matters in Phase 1

  • Around 85% of seats in each college-branch are reserved for local-area candidates, with the remaining ~15% open to non-local candidates, per Telangana Educational Institutions (Reservation) rules.
  • Local-area status is separate from category reservation (BC/SC/ST/EWS) — both apply together, so cutoffs vary by the combination of the two.
  • Non-local candidates typically need a significantly better rank than local candidates for the same college-branch combination in Phase 1.

TS EAMCET 2026 Phase 1 Allotment – FAQs

Common questions about TG EAPCET 2026 Phase 1 seat allotment, fee payment, and reporting

1
When was TS EAMCET (TG EAPCET) 2026 Phase 1 allotment declared?
TGCHE officially declared the TG EAPCET 2026 Phase 1 seat allotment result on July 10, 2026. A total of 88,053 candidates were allotted seats across 175 engineering colleges under Convenor Quota. Candidates can check their allotment status by logging into tgeapcet.nic.in with their hall ticket number and date of birth.
2
How do I check my TS EAMCET Phase 1 allotment result?
Visit tgeapcet.nic.in and click on the Phase 1 seat allotment result link. Log in using your hall ticket number, and download the allotment order, which shows your allotted college, branch, category, and fee details. Always cross-check the allotment order against your original web options to confirm accuracy before proceeding with fee payment.
3
What is the fee payment deadline after TS EAMCET Phase 1 allotment?
Candidates allotted a seat in Phase 1 had to complete tuition fee payment and online self-reporting between July 10 and July 14, 2026. This is a mandatory step — failing to pay the fee and self-report within this window results in automatic forfeiture of the allotted seat, and the seat is released back into the pool for Phase 2.
4
Do I need to physically report to the college after Phase 1 allotment?
Yes. After online self-reporting and fee payment (July 10–14), candidates must physically report to their allotted institute between July 25 and 28, 2026, carrying original certificates for verification. Physical reporting is compulsory even after online self-reporting — missing it can lead to cancellation of admission by the college.
5
How does local area reservation affect TS EAMCET Phase 1 allotment?
Telangana reserves seats under local area reservation as per the Telangana Educational Institutions (Reservation) rules — broadly around 85% of seats go to local-area candidates (those who studied or resided in Telangana for the qualifying years) and about 15% to non-local/open category candidates, on top of BC/SC/ST/EWS vertical reservation. This significantly affects cutoff ranks in Phase 1 — a rank that qualifies for a branch under local quota may not qualify under the non-local quota at the same college, so always check your seat's quota tag in the allotment order.
6
Can I upgrade my seat after Phase 1 allotment in a later phase?
Yes. Even if you self-report and join a Phase 1 college, you remain eligible to participate in Phase 2 or the Final Phase for an upgrade by exercising fresh web options. If you receive a better allotment in a later phase, you must leave the Phase 1 college and join the newly allotted one. Note that TS EAMCET does not carry forward Phase 1 options into later phases — you must fill options again each phase.
7
What is the difference between University seats and Convenor Quota seats in Phase 1?
Phase 1 allotment under TG EAPCET covers Convenor Quota seats across both government-run University colleges (such as JNTUH and Osmania University-affiliated colleges, which typically have very low fees) and private colleges (like CBIT, VNRVJIET, CVR, Vasavi, and MVSR) that also reserve a share of seats for Convenor Quota alongside Management Quota. Cutoffs for University colleges are usually far tighter than private-college Convenor seats for the same branch, so factor in the college type while reviewing your Phase 1 allotment.
