How Manipal MET Counselling Works

Manipal Entrance Test (MET) is conducted by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) for admission to engineering programs at its three campuses — MIT Manipal (Karnataka), MIT Bengaluru, and MIT Jaipur. After the exam, MAHE releases a rank list, and candidates participate in a counselling process where they rank-order their preferred branch-campus combinations.

Unlike JoSAA, there is no public live predictor tool from MAHE. Seat allotment is based on your MET rank, the number of seats in each branch-campus combination, and the order in which you list your preferences — so filling preferences strategically matters as much as your rank itself.

Does campus (Manipal vs Bengaluru vs Jaipur) affect the rank needed?
Yes, significantly. The Manipal (Karnataka) campus is the oldest and most sought-after, so its cutoffs for the same branch are tighter than MIT Bengaluru or MIT Jaipur. A rank that misses CSE at Manipal campus may still get CSE or a closely related branch at the Bengaluru or Jaipur campus, so listing all three campuses in your preference order widens your options.

Can I use my JEE Main rank instead of MET rank for Manipal?
