Manipal MET Rank Predictor 2026

Estimate your expected Manipal Entrance Test rank and understand what it means for MIT Manipal admissions

Understanding Your MET Rank

The Manipal Entrance Test (MET) is conducted by Manipal Academy of Higher Education for admission into B.Tech programmes at MIT Manipal, MIT Bengaluru, and other MAHE constituent institutions. Unlike JEE Main, MET is a computer-based test held across multiple shifts, and MAHE applies score normalization to make ranks comparable across different test sessions.

Since the exact normalization method and the year's applicant pool are only known after the test window closes, a rank predictor works by comparing your raw score against patterns from recent years to give you an estimated rank band — useful for early planning, not a guaranteed number.

MET rank directly affects which campus (MIT Manipal vs MIT Bengaluru) and branch you are likely to be offered during MAHE's own counselling process, which runs independently of JoSAA or state CET counselling.

Comparing MET With Other Options

Since MAHE institutions are private and MET counselling is separate, most students treat it as one option among several. If you have also taken JEE Main, it is worth checking your realistic options for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs using our JEE Main College Predictor so you can weigh a government institute seat against a MAHE campus offer.

Students who cleared JEE Advanced should also check IIT options via our JEE Advanced College Predictor before finalizing a decision between an IIT seat and a MAHE campus.

Frequently Asked Questions – Manipal MET Rank Predictor 2026

Common questions about estimating your MET rank

1
What is MET and how is the rank calculated?
MET (Manipal Entrance Test) is the computer-based entrance exam conducted by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) for admission to its engineering programmes at MIT Manipal, MIT Bengaluru, and other MAHE campuses. Your MET rank is based purely on your raw score in the test (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, General Aptitude), ranked against all other test-takers — it does not factor in Class 12 marks the way some state CETs do.
2
Can a rank predictor give my exact MET rank before results?
No predictor can give an exact rank before the official result, since MET is conducted across multiple slots with different question sets, and MAHE normalizes scores across sessions. A rank predictor instead gives you an estimated range based on how similar scores have historically converted to ranks.
3
What MET rank is needed for CSE at MIT Manipal?
CSE at MIT Manipal is historically one of the most competitive branches, with closing ranks typically in the low thousands among General category candidates, though the exact cutoff shifts every year depending on the number of applicants and seat matrix changes. MIT Bengaluru and other branches at MIT Manipal generally have more relaxed cutoffs.
4
Does MET rank work the same way as JEE Main rank for counselling?
No. MET is a private university entrance exam specific to MAHE institutions and runs its own separate counselling and seat allotment process, independent of JoSAA. It is not interchangeable with your JEE Main or JEE Advanced rank, though many students apply to both as parallel options.
5
Should I also apply through JEE Main if I'm targeting Manipal?
Many engineering aspirants keep both options open — appearing for MET for MAHE campuses while also using their JEE Main score for NIT/IIIT/GFTI seats via JoSAA. Use our JEE Main College Predictor to check your options on the JEE Main side in parallel.
