CSAB 2027 Eligibility — The Stable Formula

CSAB conducts Special Rounds after JoSAA counselling ends for a given admission year, filling vacant seats in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs using the same JEE Main score. Based on the consistent pattern across past cycles, candidates are expected to need to satisfy all of the following conditions for CSAB 2027:

Who Has Typically Been Expected to Apply

  • Candidates with no JoSAA seat: If JoSAA's rounds conclude without an allotment, CSAB has consistently offered a fresh chance.
  • Candidates wanting an upgrade: A candidate with a JoSAA seat in a less-preferred branch/institute can withdraw (before reporting) and try CSAB — though a better outcome is never guaranteed.
  • Candidates who missed JoSAA registration: This group has historically not been CSAB-eligible, since registering for JoSAA has consistently been a precondition.
