KCET Merit List 2026

How to check and download your KCET 2026 rank list, and what to do next

What is the KCET Merit List?

The KCET merit list (rank list) is prepared by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) after the KCET 2026 exam, combining your entrance test score with your qualifying 2nd PUC (12th standard) marks using a prescribed weightage formula. This merit list determines your eligibility and priority for KCET counselling across engineering, BSc, pharmacy, nursing, agriculture and other participating courses.

How to Check Your KCET Merit List Rank

  1. Visit the official KEA candidate portal, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.
  2. Log in using your KCET application number and registered credentials/date of birth.
  3. Navigate to the rank card / result section once KEA announces the merit list.
  4. Download and save your rank card — note your overall rank and category-wise rank.
  5. Cross-check the rank against previous year cutoffs to estimate likely college options.

Frequently Asked Questions – KCET Merit List 2026

Common questions about the KCET 2026 merit list / rank list

1
What is the KCET merit list / rank list?
The KCET merit list, officially called the rank list, is published by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) after evaluating candidates' performance in the KCET exam combined with their qualifying 12th-standard marks (as per the prescribed weightage formula). It lists candidates in order of merit for each category, which is used for subsequent counselling and seat allotment.
2
How is the KCET rank calculated?
KCET rank is calculated using a weighted combination of marks scored in the KCET entrance exam and the candidate's 2nd PUC (12th standard) marks in the relevant subjects, as per KEA's prescribed formula. The exact weightage percentages are specified in the official KCET information brochure each year and should be verified there for precision.
3
How can I check my KCET merit list rank 2026?
Candidates can check their KCET 2026 rank by logging into the official KEA candidate portal (cetonline.karnataka.gov.in) using their application number and date of birth or registered credentials. The rank card, once available, displays your overall rank as well as category-wise ranks (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/General, etc.).
4
Does the merit list rank directly decide my college seat?
The merit list rank is the basis for participating in KCET counselling, where you fill college and course preferences. Your final seat allotment depends on your rank, category, choices filled, and seat availability — not the rank alone. A good rank improves your chances but the actual allotment happens through the subsequent counselling rounds.
5
What should I do after checking my KCET merit list rank?
After checking your rank, register for KCET counselling on the KEA portal, complete document verification, and proceed to fill your college/course option entries based on your rank and the previous years' cutoff trends. Use tools like our KCET College Predictor to estimate realistic college options based on your rank and category.
