IPU CET 2026 Counselling – GGSIPU Delhi Admission Process

Complete guide to GGSIPU Delhi's 2026 B.Tech admission process — now largely based on JEE Main rank — covering USICT, MAIT, BVCOE and more.

GGSIPU 2026 Admission Process

GGSIPU (Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University), Delhi, has shifted its B.Tech admission process to rely primarily on JEE Main rank/score for most engineering programs since 2023, rather than conducting a separate entrance test (historically known as IPU CET). This aligned GGSIPU's admission process more closely with other Delhi-NCR technical universities.

GGSIPU vs JAC Delhi

A common point of confusion is between GGSIPU and JAC Delhi. NSUT (Netaji Subhas University of Technology), DTU (Delhi Technological University), and IGDTUW are covered under the separate JAC Delhi counselling process — not GGSIPU. GGSIPU runs its own independent counselling exclusively for its affiliated colleges like USICT, MAIT, and BVCOE.

Frequently Asked Questions – IPU CET 2026 Counselling

Common queries about GGSIPU/IPU 2026 counselling process

1
Is IPU CET still conducted for B.Tech admission?
GGSIPU (Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University) has largely restructured its B.Tech admission process since 2023 to admit students based on JEE Main rank/score for most engineering programs, rather than a separate IPU CET exam, aligning with the wider shift among Delhi-NCR institutions toward JEE Main-based merit.
2
Which colleges are covered under GGSIPU counselling?
GGSIPU counselling covers its own affiliated colleges including USICT (University School of ICT), Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT), Bharati Vidyapeeth's College of Engineering (BVCOE), Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology (MSIT), and several other GGSIPU-affiliated engineering institutes in Delhi.
3
Are NSUT and IGDTUW part of IPU CET/GGSIPU counselling?
No. NSUT (Netaji Subhas University of Technology) and IGDTUW (Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women) are separate universities and are covered under JAC Delhi counselling, not GGSIPU's own admission process, even though all are Delhi government universities using JEE Main rank.
4
What is the difference between JAC Delhi and GGSIPU (IPU) admission?
JAC Delhi (Joint Admission Counselling Delhi) conducts admission for NSUT, DTU, and IGDTUW. GGSIPU runs its own separate admission process for its affiliated colleges (USICT, MAIT, BVCOE, MSIT, etc.). Both processes use JEE Main rank as the primary merit criterion, but students must apply to each separately.
5
When did GGSIPU 2026 counselling take place?
GGSIPU B.Tech counselling for 2026 began shortly after JEE Main Session 2 results were declared, in June 2026, with registration, choice filling, and seat allotment continuing through June–July 2026. The 2026 counselling cycle has concluded.
6
Is there any category-specific reservation in GGSIPU admissions?
Yes, GGSIPU counselling includes reservation for Delhi domicile candidates along with standard categories like SC, ST, OBC, and EWS as per the university's admission policy, in addition to All India merit seats.
