GUJCET Cutoff 2026 – Gujarat Engineering College Trends
Understand how GUJCET scores translate into ACPC counselling ranks and college eligibility across Gujarat's engineering colleges — by tier, not fabricated exact numbers.
Important Note on This Page
We do not publish fabricated exact GUJCET cutoff scores here. Cutoffs vary every year based on exam difficulty, seat matrix changes and applicant numbers, and are officially declared only by ACPC (acpdc.in) during counselling rounds. This page explains cutoff trends and tiers so you can set realistic expectations — always verify exact closing ranks on the official ACPC portal.
What is GUJCET and How Cutoffs Work
GUJCET is Gujarat's state-level entrance exam, primarily used for admission to engineering, pharmacy and related degree programmes within the state through the ACPC (Admission Committee for Professional Courses) centralized counselling process. Most colleges use a merit formula that combines GUJCET marks with Class 12 (HSC) marks, and this combined merit rank determines your eligibility for specific colleges and branches during ACPC counselling rounds.
The "cutoff" for any college-branch combination is effectively the merit rank or score at which the last seat was filled in a given counselling round — this is published round-wise by ACPC, not GUJCET itself, and changes across rounds as seats fill up or become vacant.
Cutoff Trends by College Tier
| College Tier | Description | Competitiveness |
|---|---|---|
| Government Engineering Colleges | State govt-run institutes (e.g. GEC network) — lowest fees, strong for core branches, historically the most competitive GUJCET cutoffs for CE/IT. | Very High |
| GTU-Affiliated Institutes (Established) | Long-running GTU-affiliated private/trust colleges with good placement history — moderate to high cutoffs for CSE/IT, more relaxed for core branches. | High to Moderate |
| GTU-Affiliated Institutes (Newer) | Newer or smaller GTU-affiliated colleges — generally more accessible cutoffs across most branches, seats often available in later ACPC rounds. | Moderate to Low |
| Private/Deemed Universities | Some accept GUJCET/ACPC merit alongside their own entrance routes or JEE Main; cutoffs vary widely by brand reputation and branch demand. | Varies |

GUJCET vs JEE Main for Gujarat Colleges
A notable feature of Gujarat's engineering admission system is that many colleges — particularly GTU-affiliated and some private institutes — accept both GUJCET and JEE Main scores for state-quota admission through ACPC. This gives students a strategic choice:
Students who write only GUJCET compete on the GUJCET + HSC merit list for participating seats.
Students who also write JEE Main may be eligible for an alternate merit route at colleges that accept it, potentially widening their options.
For NIT/IIIT/GFTI seats outside Gujarat, only JEE Main matters — GUJCET has no relevance beyond the state's own colleges.
Always check each college's specific admission scheme on the ACPC website, since not every institute accepts both exams.
