DASA Rank Predictor 2026 – Predict NIT/IIIT Admission via JEE Main Rank

Understand how DASA 2026 admission chances are estimated from JEE Main rank for foreign nationals, NRI, PIO and OCI candidates applying to NITs, IIITs and SPAs

What Is DASA 2026?

DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) is the dedicated admission scheme that lets foreign nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and NRIs secure undergraduate seats at NITs, IIITs, SPAs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes. There is no separate DASA exam. The official DASA UG 2026 brochure (version 1.5, csab.nic.in) allots seats on the basis of a valid JEE Main 2026 rank, along with Class 12 (or equivalent) marks of 75 percent. SAT is not used.

Because DASA seats are supernumerary and drawn from a much smaller, globally distributed applicant pool than JoSAA, DASA closing ranks are not comparable to JoSAA closing ranks. The 2026 cycle had two allotment rounds.

How a DASA Rank/Admission Predictor Works

A DASA predictor starts from one input: your JEE Main 2026 rank (Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech, Paper 2A for B.Arch, Paper 2B for B.Planning). DASA uses the Common Rank List as it is and applies no tie-breaking rule. Your rank, category tag (SAARC, Non-SAARC or CIWG), choice order and seat availability then decide the seat you are given.

Since DASA closing ranks depend on how many foreign, NRI and OCI candidates apply and on supernumerary seats per program, treat any prediction as an approximate band, not a guarantee. We do not list closing ranks here because we did not verify an official table for 2026. Check round-wise opening and closing ranks on the official DASA portal (csab.nic.in) and in the brochure, and use the DASA mock allocation to test your choices.

To compare your JEE Main rank with institute-wise data, use our college predictor tool and then confirm against the official DASA ranks.

What Decides Your DASA Result

We do not publish closing ranks because we did not verify an official 2026 table. Download the official round-wise PDF from csab.nic.in for your program and category tag.

Frequently Asked Questions – DASA Rank Predictor 2026

Common questions about DASA 2026 admission prediction

1
What is DASA and who is eligible?
DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) is a Ministry of Education scheme that admits foreign nationals, OCI and PIO cardholders and NRIs into NITs, IIITs, SPAs and other centrally funded technical institutes on supernumerary seats. In the 2026 cycle, seats are allotted on the basis of a valid JEE Main 2026 rank. SAT is not used.
2
How does DASA rank predictor work?
Your DASA rank is your JEE Main 2026 Common Rank List rank, used as it is, with no tie-breaking rule. A predictor can only compare that rank with the opening and closing ranks that DASA publishes after each round, for your category tag, institute and program. Treat any estimate as an approximate band, not a guarantee.
3
What rank is needed for top NITs under DASA?
We do not list closing ranks because we did not verify an official table for 2026. Round-wise opening and closing ranks are posted on csab.nic.in and archived on dasanit.org. Download the official PDF for the program you want, and check the closing rank for your own category tag.
4
Is DASA counselling different from JoSAA/CSAB?
Yes. DASA is a separate seat allocation for foreign nationals, OCI, PIO and NRI candidates, with its own supernumerary seat pool of up to 15 percent of each institute's program-wise seats, its own fee and choice filling. It is hosted on the same portal as CSAB (csab.nic.in). The 2026 cycle had two allotment rounds. Indian candidates applying through the regular route use JoSAA and CSAB.
5
Which branches and institutes are covered under DASA?
The 2026 brochure lists 31 NITs and IIEST Shibpur, 18 IIITs and 38 other GFTIs and technical institutes, in B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning. Seat availability and closing ranks vary by institute and program. The final list is on csab.nic.in.
6
Can I use a JEE-based college predictor for DASA?
Not directly. DASA ranks come from the JEE Main Common Rank List, but they are not comparable to JoSAA closing ranks, which are set by a much larger pool of Indian candidates. DASA closing ranks depend on how many foreign, NRI and OCI candidates apply and on supernumerary seats per program, so use the official DASA round-wise ranks.
