About NIT Nagaland

National Institute of Technology Nagaland (NIT Nagaland) was established in 2010 under the Eleventh Five Year Plan of the Government of India. The institute is located in Chumukedima, Dimapur, Nagaland. It is one of the newer NITs set up to provide quality technical education in the northeastern states.

NIT Nagaland offers B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering. The institute is gradually building its academic reputation, research infrastructure, and placement network. The campus is in a developing phase with ongoing infrastructure projects.

For JoSAA 2026, NIT Nagaland follows the 50% Home State (Nagaland) and 50% Other State split. With Nagaland being a smaller state with limited JEE candidates, the Other State cutoffs are among the most relaxed in the NIT system. JoSAA 2026 begins June 2, 2026.
