About NIT Agartala

National Institute of Technology Agartala (NIT Agartala), originally established in 1965 as Regional Engineering College Tripura, is located in Jirania, near Agartala — the capital of Tripura. It was among the first Regional Engineering Colleges in the northeastern states and was upgraded to NIT status in 2006.

NIT Agartala offers B.Tech in CSE, ECE, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Production, and Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering. It is one of the more comprehensive NITs in the northeast with 8+ branches. The institute also offers M.Tech, MCA, MBA, and Ph.D. programmes.
