Colleges Accepting 60-70 Percentile in JEE Main 2026

A JEE Main score of 60-70 percentile corresponds to approximately rank 2,90,000 to 4,30,000 in the General category. JoSAA central counselling (NITs, IIITs, GFTIs) is not accessible at this range, but a wide range of state government and reputable private colleges remain open.

State counselling is the best route. States like Uttar Pradesh (AKTU/UPSEE), Bihar (BCECE), Jharkhand (JCECE), Odisha (JEE Odisha), Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh directly use JEE Main score for state-level admissions. At 60-70 percentile, you can access good state government colleges like Government Engineering College Bikaner, Government College of Engineering Aurangabad, BIET Jhansi, and similar institutions that have excellent faculty and affordable fees.

Private universities with direct JEE Main-based admission: Sharda University, Galgotias University, GL Bajaj Institute (Mathura), Jain University Bangalore, SRM AP, Lovely Professional University, IIMT University, and several others in UP, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh maintain JEE Main 60+ percentile as a qualifying criterion.

Parallel state entrance tests are also an option. KCET (Karnataka), WBJEE (West Bengal), and MHTCET (Maharashtra) are separate exams that cover engineering admissions in those states and may offer better colleges than your JEE Main score alone. Many students appear for both JEE Main and their state entrance simultaneously.
