How This Ranking Was Determined

This ranking combines JoSAA 2026 closing-rank data (where IIEST Shibpur leads GFTIs with the best closing rank of 642) with qualitative factors — institutional age and legacy, Institute of National Importance / Deemed University status, and general industry reputation. Since GFTIs are administratively diverse, no single "top 5" list is definitive; branch-specific and category-specific rankings can differ.

Rankings Are Approximate

This is a qualitative ranking based on reputation and available closing-rank data, not an official NIRF-style numeric ranking for the GFTI category specifically. Actual admission chances depend on your category, quota (home state/other state) and choice-filling strategy. Always verify current cutoffs at josaa.nic.in and csab.nic.in.
