IIIT Hyderabad Cutoff 2026

International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT-H) is widely regarded as the best IIIT in India and one of the top CS institutes in the country. Established in 1998 as a not-for-profit public-private partnership, it is located in Gachibowli, Hyderabad — India's premier IT hub.

Unlike other IIITs, IIIT Hyderabad does NOT primarily admit students through JoSAA. Its own entrance exam, UGEE (Undergraduate Engineering Entrance), is the primary admission route. UGEE consists of an online test and a personal interview/counselling stage. JEE Advanced scores are used for shortlisting candidates for the UGEE interview.

A very limited number of seats (typically 20–30 across programs) are offered via JoSAA in five-year dual degree programs. These JoSAA seats are extremely competitive, often requiring JEE Advanced ranks in the top 500–1,000 General CRL — comparable to IIT Bombay CSE cutoffs.

IIIT Hyderabad offers programs in CSE, ECE, Computational Natural Sciences (CNS), and Liberal Arts. Its research institutes in AI, Data Sciences, Robotics, and Language Technologies give students unparalleled research exposure. Average CSE placements exceed ₹25 LPA, and the institute regularly produces PhD graduates at top global universities.

IIIT Hyderabad consistently outperforms most IITs in CS placements on a per-student basis. The 2024–25 placement season saw average packages of ₹26–28 LPA for CSE graduates. International offers from Google, Meta, Microsoft Research, and Jane Street have ranged from ₹80 lakh to ₹2+ crore.

The institute's strong research culture means many graduates pursue funded MS/PhD programs at MIT, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, and other top global institutions. IIIT-H alumni hold senior positions at all major global tech companies.
