NSUT Cutoff 2026 – Netaji Subhas University of Technology
Branch-wise JEE Main closing rank for NSUT via JAC Delhi counselling, Delhi (Home State) vs Outside Delhi quota analysis, fees, and placements for 2026.
How to Get Admission to NSUT
Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), formerly known as Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT), is one of Delhi's most reputed government-funded technical universities. Like DTU, admission to NSUT's B.Tech programs is not through JoSAA — it is conducted via JAC Delhi (Joint Admission Counselling Delhi), a separate counselling process that also covers DTU and IIIT Delhi.
Students frequently confuse JoSAA and JAC Delhi registration, assuming that filling JoSAA choices automatically covers Delhi's government universities. This is incorrect — you must separately create an account, register, and fill choices on the JAC Delhi portal to be considered for NSUT, in addition to (not instead of) your JoSAA registration if you're also targeting NITs/IITs/IIITs.
NSUT's quota structure mirrors DTU's, distinguishing between Delhi (Home State/domicile) candidates and Outside Delhi candidates, with substantially relaxed cutoffs for Delhi-domicile students. This quota gap is one of the largest among engineering admission processes in India, making domicile verification a high-priority task for eligible candidates.
NSUT has built a particularly strong reputation in Computer Science and Information Technology, with placement statistics in recent years that are frequently cited as being among the best of any government engineering institute outside the IIT and top-NIT tier, benefiting from its Delhi-NCR location and close industry ties with major tech companies headquartered or with large offices in the region.

Fees, Placements, and Key Facts
Fee structure
NSUT's fees are government-institute level, approximately ₹1.5-2 lakh per year, making it a cost-effective option relative to private universities while delivering strong CSE/IT placement outcomes.
Placement record
NSUT CSE and IT branches see average packages around ₹14-20 LPA with top offers exceeding ₹50 LPA, driven by strong recruiter interest from Delhi-NCR-based and visiting national tech companies.
Separate JAC Delhi registration required
As with DTU, you must register separately for JAC Delhi to be considered for NSUT — JoSAA registration alone does not include Delhi's government universities.
Growing reputation and rankings
NSUT has steadily climbed national engineering rankings in recent years, and its CSE program in particular is increasingly viewed as comparable to several NITs and even some newer IITs in terms of student outcomes.
