COMEDK Merit List 2026 – How the Rank List Is Prepared & Checked

Understand how COMEDK UGET 2026 merit list works, when it releases, and how to check your rank

What Is the COMEDK Merit List?

The COMEDK merit list is the consolidated rank list of all candidates who appear for the COMEDK UGET (Undergraduate Entrance Test), conducted for admission to private engineering colleges in Karnataka (and a few in other states). This list is the single most important document for COMEDK counselling — it decides the order in which candidates get to lock in their college-branch choices.

COMEDK UGET is usually held across multiple shifts/sessions. To ensure no candidate is unfairly advantaged or disadvantaged due to varying difficulty levels between sessions, COMEDK applies a percentile normalization method before generating the final merit list.

How to Check the COMEDK Merit List 2026

  1. Visit the official COMEDK website (comedk.org).
  2. Log in using your application number and password/date of birth.
  3. Navigate to the "Rank Card" or "Merit List" section.
  4. Download and save your rank card for reference during counselling.

* Exact release dates for COMEDK UGET 2026 merit list vary each year — confirm the current schedule on the official COMEDK website.

Frequently Asked Questions – COMEDK Merit List 2026

Common questions about the COMEDK UGET 2026 merit list

1
What is the COMEDK merit list 2026?
The COMEDK merit list (also called the rank list) is the ranking of all candidates who appeared for COMEDK UGET 2026, prepared based on the normalized score from the entrance test. This rank determines the order in which candidates get to participate in COMEDK counselling and choose colleges/branches.
2
How is the COMEDK merit list prepared?
COMEDK UGET uses a percentile-based normalization process across multiple test sessions/shifts (since the exam is often conducted in more than one slot) to ensure fairness. Candidates are then ranked in descending order of this normalized score to generate the merit list/rank list.
3
Where can I check the COMEDK 2026 merit list?
The merit list and individual rank cards are published on the official COMEDK website (comedk.org) under the candidate login section. You will need your application number and date of birth/password to log in and view your rank.
4
Does a good COMEDK merit list rank guarantee a seat?
No. The merit list only determines your position in the queue. Seat allotment in COMEDK counselling depends on your rank, the choices you fill, category, and seat availability at the time your rank is considered in each round. A good rank significantly improves your chances but is not a guarantee by itself.
5
Is there a separate merit list for different categories in COMEDK?
COMEDK UGET is primarily a general merit exam without category-based reservation the way JoSAA/CSAB has for government quotas, since most COMEDK seats are in private engineering colleges in Karnataka. However, some government quota seats within COMEDK-affiliated colleges may follow applicable state reservation norms — check the official counselling brochure for specifics.
6
How can I estimate my college chances from my COMEDK merit list rank?
Compare your COMEDK rank against previous years' closing ranks for your target colleges and branches. Use our COMEDK college predictor tool to get a personalized estimate based on your actual rank.
