VIT Vellore JEE Mains Cutoff 2026

VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) is a Deemed University ranked among India's top 10 private engineering universities by NIRF. While VIT primarily admits students through its own VITEEE (VIT Engineering Entrance Exam), it also offers a direct interview-based admission route for JEE Main high scorers.

Students with JEE Main 2026 percentile of 80 or above receive a direct call from VIT Vellore for campus interview and admission. This bypasses VITEEE entirely. For students with percentile between 70–80, appearing in VITEEE is recommended. The JEE Main direct route is typically for Vellore and Chennai campuses.

VIT Vellore has over 600 companies that recruit on campus annually. Microsoft, Amazon, Dell, Cisco, Deloitte and many others are regular recruiters. The placement rate for CSE and IT branches exceeds 90%. VIT also has a strong entrepreneurship cell and research environment that makes it competitive with lower-ranked NITs.

One key consideration: VIT fees are significantly higher than NITs. However, merit scholarships can reduce the fee burden considerably. Students who rank in the top 10% of their VITEEE slot or have 90+ JEE Main percentile can receive up to 75% fee waiver for the entire duration, making VIT cost-competitive.
