The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) have announced revised eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2026. Aspirants must carefully go through the new rules before applying for the exam.
The top 2.5 lakh candidates from JEE Main 2026 will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. The rank will be considered from all sessions of JEE Main 2026.
Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2001 (5 years relaxation for SC/ST/PwD). The age limit has been strictly enforced and there is no relaxation beyond the specified categories.
Candidates should NOT have appeared in JEE Advanced earlier. They can appear for JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in consecutive years.
The minimum aggregate marks required in Class 12 or equivalent is 75% (65% for SC/ST/PwD). The aggregate will be calculated considering five subjects - Language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Electronics, and any one elective.
Candidates who have admitted to an IIT earlier are NOT eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2026. This rule is strictly enforced and candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility requirements before applying.
